oh hell no lol i'd have pulled out my phone and pushed it up the chain right there in his office in front of him if he's the one responsible for making those calls and blew me off like that......I don't care if the driver has been there 5 minutes or 50 years I've had my fill of these morons leaving this junk and not getting it fixed. luckily I haven't had one lately and luckily for them haven't seen anyone with one either but my tolerance for stupidity and passing it off for the other guy has gone to zero and getting worse, especially where safety issues are concerned. just because someone has x number of decades with the company makes them MORE accountable and responsible for their actions in my eyes, not less. he can go work somewhere else for all I care.

I wasn't going to share this story but after having 630 miles today to stew on it and getting more and more annoyed about it i'm going to anyway.......especially considering what Dinky just said.......along those same lines of not having tolerance for stupidity.... and speaking of snotty customers that want to reject things and be hard ##### about stuff.......did my drop at HD and bounced on over to lowes in Valdosta for the next trip......had a 0001-1900 window to pick up and it's 0800 when I get there. live unload in leeds, al at 0400 next day so plenty of time no rush. get there and check in and the desk was busy so they had me go around the corner in the other door to the transportation manager at the desk in the back. can't find my paperwork. looks around some more and finds it. "oh, this load is 4,000 over gross is that going to be a problem for you?" well duh of course it is....... told him I wouldn't take one over gross.......he looks at me and says and I quote "I don't know what's wrong with you drivers anymore....you're all scared little ####### that wet your pants at the sight of DOT and are #### scared to run an overweight around the scales and get the job done. back when I was driving........" and I cut him off and stopped him right there in mid-sentence.......after that moron guard in courtland last week I'm just not hearing it anymore.....albeit as professionally as I can address it......so I cut him off and said 'clearly you haven't been driving in awhile and I don't care how you did it when you were. it's pretty #### easy to sit there in your air conditioned office and nice chair and be an armchair supertrucker. the rules have changed now. my company doesn't want me running overweight and i'm not running overweight and sure as hell not 4k overweight. not one person in my company is going to say one word to me for refusing this load. you'd think as many thousands of trailers as you people load in a month you'd have it down to a science and know exactly what you can put where and how much it'll weigh before it even gets to the scale. your overweight trailer is not my problem and i'm not running around scales just to get it to the store".......didn't raise my voice, didn't act condescending, didn't even say it loud enough for anyone else to hear it but kept it private between me and him..... but made my point. hell he even offered to give me a route that would take me around the scales to get to the store......not happening.......so then he got really snotty and told me 2nd shift overloaded it, they were going to have to fix it. won't be ready until 1900 earliest. and this is 0830 now.....no way I have time to run it then.......and then told me I can't have my empty back it's already logged in I can't have it back. told him that's fine got plenty of empties right across the street don't need it to get another load. i'd tell dispatch it wouldn't be ready till 1900 and they'd send someone along later and I wouldn't report our little conversation to safety. no telling how many other guys he's talked into running overweight but i'm not doing it. so of course I get across the street and there's no empties on the yard there lol......send in the overweight message and the pickup info and this load to texas was there so I got it........just keep in mind if you get an overweight out of Valdosta DC that if you don't run it, the trans mgr thinks your a kitty cat for lack of the proper word lol

guess I'll be calling wifey tomorrow and letting her know about that "old timer-knows it all". Just kinda shocked me that he was pretty rude. I don't think I've run into one of our guys that "snappy" to me....hell, all I was doing was helping out....sheesh.....come to think of it....the trailer WAS loaded. I don't think it'd be THAT big of a problem...the shop in Chester, I've NEVER had a problem with the guys in there....always LOVE joking with me and bsing, what not...but get me done really quick! I know that when I brought in a trailer, about 2 weeks ago, that had 3 flat-spotted tires, the service guy(can't remember his name! REALLY GREAT GUY!) just told me to back it into 8 and he'd have me ready in 10.....but it'll cost me! lol I was done in 5 minutes! Started pulling my wallet out and said....oh wait, I'm a driver...NOT a mechanic! You got a better education than me! DANG! lol But, all in all....job was done QUICK! And it was around 1400....them boys are great...but they sure love lounging around in the am! lol Man do they hussle in the pm! lol
as far as overweight goes...I'd just call sdaniels and ask him how to route around scales! lol OR....you can be like me and LITERALLY just RUN ONE! It only cost me $125 there on the spot......and I was EMPTY! Thanks Van Wert!

My "outlaw" days are long gone! Yeah been there done that! But every thing as changed . Have had trucks scale out at 156,000 , on just 5 axles. Bills said 48 k , was off a tad! That was the scrap days. Knew it was heavy , just did know how heavy till I pulled up on the company scales . Was told one t a time please! That old POS international (315cummins with a 7 speed) knew it did not like it! But paper will be light or heavy(very heavy) , dependent on form and how loaded.
The air freight days , burnt the candle at both ends ! Just say we had fast horses! Contract you had to avg 68 mph to be on time . To avg 68 you got to run hard . May a night set the cruise at 83 to 85 , still have lots of petal left. Supervisor had a speeding ticket framed 126 in a 55.

Never fails does it lol parked at the TA in Terrell....in the back so I could sleep yesterday when I got here and it's a huge lot. Woke up this morning to lightning and wind but no rain so walk the 40 acres up to the store for a bathroom.

Come back out 10 minutes later and it's pouring sideways so hard you can hardly see the fuel island lol

Won't need a shower today. I'm absolutely soaked now
