I do not mind this one , good miles . GW bridge was flowing great ! Just guessed they would have hung me out over a week end while I had a trainee. They normally do , so the trainee gets a taste of it. Epes is a good company ! But not matter where you work there are going to be bad days!
Flying , maybe your DM needs to take his solar panel out side ? I have no room to talk, more bald then he is . You put it on the quailcomm ? If so you are covered . You told him it could not be done. They now know its going to be late. CSR should have let the receiver know. Give them as much notice as you can , and you told them as fast as humanly possible . Some body else dropped the ball . Get it there safe and legal . That's all that can be expected .
Dink yes I think our DM could easily switch to dragon lady ! Just play nice . She has control of your load assignments !
There a fire truck show somewhere this weekend ? Saw about 15 to 20 restored fire trucks , headed south on I 95.

oh yeah it's on the box don't have the hours to make the pickup and get it there. just not happening. so is the message back it's a d/h don't worry just go over and get it in the morning.

problem last two days, and why I got hung out as well, regular DM isn't there. now I don't usually have issues with this guy filling in he has before and we've always worked well together,.....older guy, good fellow you know who i'm talking about i'm sure but he didn't do so well this time.....he's usually on the ball, but I think he got a little flustered over the issues with the paper load.....he was hemming and hawing over why 'it shouldn't be such an issue it's just a simple mixup of numbers'......right......in that cubicle it may just be a simple mixup of numbers, but out here in the real world with a receiver in your face yelling it's a #### big screwup.........that and that I flat told him that next load wasn't happening......and yeah, I stopped as soon as I heard that preplan was doing the figuring in my head and immediately knew it wouldn't work...... they had a good 9hrs notice before the pickup window closed when I initially declined the preplan that I couldn't make either side of it on time. my ### is cya all the way......oh and did I mention it was 1600 on Friday when all this happened too.....i'd bet my paycheck someone was looking at the door more than worrying about trying to find someone else who could have done it on time......

I don't mind occasionally getting hung out here over the weekend as I've said so many times before we all get our turn......but when I had a preplan that would have had me home by noon friday, have plans to be at the race tomorrow, then have that preplan cancelled and lose ALL of that and the money invested over someone's 'mixup of numbers'......then I really get a little irritated. I have no tolerance for stupidity and I got more than my share of it from Wednesday on........and yet I spent 20 years in management over a bunch of good union folk and now i'm doing this job lol you'd think my tolerance for stupidity would be really high by now lol but it isn't it gets worse as I get older. once I settle in and accept the fact I got screwed and now i'm stuck out here and have to find somewhere to go shopping for the next week then i'm fine......can't say so much for the wife......this weekend was supposed to be the first good trip we've had on the bike this year and to a race at that...... they can be #### glad she doesn't have her own keycard to get into dispatch. she is NOT a happy camper right about now. i'm over it. so I run 2 weeks but you can be #### sure me and the regular dm are going to be having a chat Monday when he gets back and I will be in Friday if not sooner.

and I had to laugh at myself today......had 2 big turkeys fly up across my hood today....one at sunrise but I could see him on the side of the road and he was getting a good running start so I knew he was coming......crossed over my grill and away he went......sunset this evening this one was HUGE and I never saw it coming up out of the bushes by the highway......barely made it across my hood less than a foot from the windshield.....and I ducked it was so close and sudden lol......I had to laugh afterward what good would that have done? I almost had a lap full of huge turkey and glass......

squeezed into the petro in carlilse.......you gotta love trying to park after sundown.....I didn't think it'd be this full on a Saturday night but it's packed. of course the J was already full

roll on up in the morning and then see where I get hung out at. barely got enough time to get back even if they run me straight back unless I get really lucky. guess we'll see

and you know, i'd agree with you on the trainee......somewhere around week 3-4 they should be kept out 2 weeks....just to learn how to run the recap and see how that works just so they don't blow it once it happens to them on their own....

but Dinky will tell you lol our trainer made #### sure he got in every Friday. we never stayed out 2 weeks with him we kinda got spoiled in that regard

Got 370 dollars worth of 2012 Daytona tickets above the pass side visor . The 2013 tickets we knew to buy the ticket insurance. Got most of this years tickets back . Last year we where there , but it rained , but have load to move Monday , they ran the stinking thing Monday night . Listened to most of it in Sumter SC , by way of Tampa and Valdosta . Next year just going to take the whole week ?

Was pointing out , that two years in a row things didn't work out. Lost 370 the first go around . Poor Chester drove down for the 2012 race and fell , messed up his elbow , missed the race and was on his rv . Like 800 in fuel . Think he was home Sunday midday ? Life bites some days!
What was the worst parts was one of the golden children calls me like 8 am Monday , asking how I liked the race. One of the other GC had a nice wreck , wiped out 760 odd feet of guard rail . Truck was up on top of it the entire way . Now it does not take 700 feet to stop ! Foot still floored ? Guess being related to 3 people in the office ... He was laughing about it , wanted to make a appt to sit down with Big Boss ! Heard the bill for the guard rail may be 30 k , then the price of the truck . If they are protecting him , he may fire all four? Doubt he would find a 140 to 150 k loss funny! Heck that's four or five years worth of pick ups ! Thanks Mr X !

oh yeah! Home EVERY FRIDAY! lol YOU BETTER BELIEVE THAT!!!!!!! Hey sdaniel, do you ever have a week where you and student run paper logs? Since elogs are becoming more of the norm....what happens if students elogs went down and they never REALLY ran a paper log? I was chatting with my bud at USA that's thinking of becoming a trainer over there...although he loves paperlogs...he will be switching to elogs with in the next 6 months....but we agreed that training should be done, for atleast a week, on paperlogs. They need to know how to run it in the "real" world....just incase, like what's happened to me in the past 3 weeks, elog goes down, qualcomm malfuntion, etc.

ran 120 today, did my drop, then waited 2 hours for a preplan i couldn't run. then got another. finally get one i have hours to run and i'm sitting here for 24 hours now waiting on a load that doesn't pick up until tomorrow and delivers only Tuesday

only by sheer luck of the draw the only thing they had I could run with the time I have left delivers in blairs......I may or may not have time left on the 70 to get to the yard once it unloads, but you know, after the last week, and sitting 2 full days out of the last 7 due to screw-ups not of my own doing, this truck is going to the yard and i'm going home. for a good 2 days. tractor is overdue for service anyway, which I also pointed out more than once before they kept me out. fuel island guy wanted to put it on in before I went out but of course I said 'we'll get it in there soon as i'm in this weekend'....lol just the way it goes

then I guess i'll be back to midweek off for awhile and running through the weekends until I can get it turned back around to the right schedule. that's not such a bad schedule though usually get some decent miles doing the midweek off thing.

That was Les! I saw/ran into him this past Feb. He was getting out of his suv as wife was dropping me off on a Sunday late morning/early afternoon! Said, they gave his old truck to one of his students, as soon as they finished with him! He's in a 23 series truck with elogs! Asked him about how it's going on them....he actually likes it......oh...and he still makes it home on Fridays! And DM has nothing to do with it! lmao
