Thinking back to my orientation/physical they didn't test me for it but a few of the larger guys in the group were saying something about being tested

Roehl?? They are alright. Big terminal in Gary Indiana, and I hate Chicago. Gary is "almost" Chicago, so I was in that area a lot. I want a Southeast region. Plus, I didn't get the miles I wanted (1800-2200) a week. Plus I had several instances where I had to sit 18-24 hours for a load. I wasn't very happy about that. Epes told me they don't have a trainer available for me but would call me. In the meantime I'm going to Swift. How is the condition of the tractors and trailers with Epes, how how many tractors do they have in their fleet??

Everything is well maintained. Its a young fleet and their policy is to keep it that way. Roughly 3 year cycle and they're turned in and new ones come in. They're pretty anal about maintenance. Last months newsletter says we bought 705 new trailers this year and the older ones are being phased out and 191 new tractors. Total number of tractors is approx 800 units.

Longest I've ever sat for a load is 4hrs but the average is 30 minutes if I have to wait. 60% of the time I'm preplanned before I deliver the one I'm on.

You'll do southeast but you're going to do a lot of northeast too. We get a bonus of .07 / loaded mile on anything north of DC and all of Pa so it adds up quick. Especially if you pick up down south and run it way up north.

Nope its NOT all about passing the other driver. But its nice to get into the hammer lane and go around the others in the granny lane at times.

Thank you very much. I may just stay with Swift 6 months so to finish out my 1 year experience, and then come to Epes. There's no doubt Epes is at the top of my list though. Do all of their trucks have condos or just trainer trucks?

Gee, thanks alot Sandy, GO TO HELL!!! lol I'm so happy to see the outside instead of a curtain on my windshield.....I'm sure I look like a happy little dog going down the road, except for the tongue hanging out. haha

Trucks are Condo trucks.....When you mean "trainer" trucks, EVERYBODY is assigned their own truck......regardless if you're trainer or not! I'm just a solo guy, but did spend 4 weeks with a trainer, and he was "just a driver"(and I DON'T MEAN that in any NEGATIVE way as most companies do.) NOT a "trainer/solo/yada-yada truck".....sdaniels may elaborate more...but I think(?) I'm right on point. Hope this helps
