    Hey Jeff,
a McElroy recruiter came and spoke with us today. Everything sounded interesting...good cpm, medical, 401k and weekends home, which I don't care about but it is a nice plus. Allowed to idle. He said a lot of Lowes will let you park there and I have one 2 miles from home.
It sounds like your happy with it. Any other info? I think I am going to send them an application tomorrow.
    Thanks !

Sorry took so long.Yes most Lowes will let u park.I park my truck at Lowe's 1/2 mile from my house.they even come out and talk to me when I get there to park on Friday and if any trucks try to take my spot Lowes makes them leave so I can park.they love McElroy.

I have a friend who worked at McElroy(flatbed) in Alabama for many years and he loved it... He told me that they guarantee you in writing, (not verbally), but in writing, that you ARE HOME EVERY WEEKEND...unless you just want to stay out over the weekend. I was told that the owner is a Seventh-day Adventist and is very religious: (Adventists abstain from secular work on Saturday). He said that McElroy did run alot of Lowes stuff (maybe wood) I'm not sure though, I didn't ask... My friend went over to another flat bed company that has a lease to own program....and he gets paid 70% of every load...WTI the new company gets the other 30%... He has been there for years and now owns his own Truck. (his truck note was $ 1,000 dollars a week, that was taken out of his pay check.) He stated that he can come and go as he pleases Now...NO FORCED DISPATCH THERE. If you want to be a company flatbed driver then McElroy seems to be a GREAT COMPANY.

Hey Jeff, appreciate you posting that info. I just passed my cdl test and have one more week of class. Just looking for a little more info/advise. Anything that will help me choose the right company. I was really looking forward to working for tmc but for some reason got turned down. I'm looking to drive either flatbed or tanker. I haven't applied to McElroy yet. But Milton and schneider tanker division have accepted me. Any info/advise will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
