TransAm is a low pay company, 1 year experience at .32 cpm. Their lease purchase is a joke at .84 cents per mile I believe. Don't walk, run! 4 years experience you can do way better. What are you trying to do?

TransAm is a reefer only fleet that primarily runs east of the Rockies and from Maine to Florida with limited loads each week going to California. Company drivers can expect 4 days off a month on a use it or lose it basis. I week out, 1 day home, but you can't just roll ut all together to stay out 7 weeks and come home for a week. TransAm hires in NC and I think I might have actually picked up in Greenville before. For the most part it's meat going east and juice and dry freight coming back west. No dedicated or regional runs.

Likely as an experienced driver leasing would be the only option they would offer, but it's worth talking to a recruiter. All equipment is 2011 and newer Kenworth T660, T700, and T680 tractors. Fully automatic with APU, fridge and inverter on every truck.

Check out the thread "TransAm Still" for answers to questions coming from current and former company and lease drivers and even a few spouses of current and former TransAm drivers. They are primarily a starter company, a good place to get your feet wet, but there are drivers who have been with the company for years and years. To each their own.

They run reefer freight from Colorado to the East and to the South into Florida. They also run west coast lanes in to Los Angeles.

Their website is not a information packed as others. If you notice, they say very little about company driver work and alot about being a lease driver. I called them and asked about the lease program. Told that just to breakeven, you have to run 2500 miles and anything above that is your take home. So for 2500 miles, they say that your expenses including truck payment will be about $1425.00 a week, right off the top. So if you have a bad week and you only get 2800 miles, you won't have much of a paycheck.
