I was wondering if anyone here has driven for Uber or know somebody who has? I see them spamming Craigslist always looking for drivers and was curious if you can make a good living from it or is it BS?

I have reported this post as it needs to go to the forums "Companies Good or Bad". Any company that some one is asking for info is directed to that area, just so you know for the future.

Hi DtB, my nephew tried to get me into that, and there was a big brew-haha in Milwaukee with the "regular" cabbies all up in arms, but have since resolved it. A guy across the alley does something like that, and he usually leaves around bar closing time. If you want drunken bar patrons puking in your back seat, I say go for it.

They will make it illegal in all states soon. Makes no sense to me - they make taxi driver go thru 2 month school, pay for it, have expensive insurance and on the other side they let some company use anyone as a taxi driver on any car. Its the same as they let anyone drive truck without requiring CDL. I hope they shut Uber and other companies like that soon.
semi retired semi driver Thanks this. -
I used uber a few months ago while shut down for a reset north of Washington DC. The driver came and picked me up at my truck and drove me 45 miles south to the front steps of the Air and Space Museum. I walked around for a few hours and when it was time to leave, I pushed the button on the app and another driver picked me up and took me back. Uber is a great app, a ton cheaper than some dirty cab and very easy to use. I plan on using it when I'm stuck on resets near major cities in the future. I'd recommend it to other drivers who don't want to sit in their trucks for another reset.

I think the first major accident a UBER driver has and kills someone and the ensuing lawsuits will end it. Taxi cabs need major insurance/permits etc.

One of my buddies does it part-time on the weekend and makes $300 bucks! He lives in Chicago and Uber has blown up there. PM me if you have any more questions.

these taxi companies had every thing locked down and they blew it with their greed and hygiene.
