Got my CDL last month, 9/4, and after getting some family medical problems behind me, I'll be starting at RIST on 10/15. Can anyone tell me what to expect at their 3 day orientation?
What all is involved in their PAT test? Any info or general comments on RIST would be appreciated. I had the choice of going with RIST which is NE regional, out 5 days and home on the weekends, or Schneider NE regional. Thanks in advance for any info!
Starting at Wadhams / RIST next week...

Well my family knows Wadhams very well they are very good people. Not sure how they run there business but I know they are very trustworthy.
wreckdiver Thanks this. -
I worked for them last Nov through this March. Good company, good equipment, not so good pay/miles but it's what to expect from regional work. I left Sunday night, Monday morning and home Friday at some point. Day one of orientation is paper work like usual, day 2 is safty related stuff and Physical test, and day 3 they put you in a car with a few other guys and ride around in a car and point out hazards.

I finish up at NTTS in april, I too will be joining RIST. My dad drove for then back in the late 90's. What are some of the customers they service, and what type of freight do they mainly haul.
-
I hauled a lot of scrap metal and alcohol. But they do typical dry freight.
-
Good equipmemt? I deliver to them for Tracey Road Equipment. Starting to get some freightliners, but still see mainly macks
-
Yeah they have Macks, I had a 2013 freightliner. They have some old Volvos floating around. Maintenance is pretty good. They are good people. Expect to make about $700/wk net.
