I'm soon to be starting my truck driving career around in early January long over due, through all the research I've came down to 3 companies: Havlor Lines, Knight and Magnum Companies. I would like info on which would be the best option? As far as pay starting out, reliable home time, equipment and the good & bad of each. I live in NC

Appreciate it, yea I looked into Millis but I already have my CDL & they still wanted me to do their schooling which would cost $2,000 or so. What the recruiter said. So Im at my 3 options now

I don't know about the other 2 trucking companies. I would stay away from Knight. if you haven't applied to the other 2 yet. I would send the app in. just remember one thing. make plans on staying for 3 years where ever you decide to work. another thing you need to keep in mind. you only have to show 3 years of previous employment when starting out as a driver. and only at the first driving job. after that you must show 10 years previous employment. and that is weather you drive a truck for one day or 10 years. trucking companies only check the last 3 years of employment. so if you work one driving job for 3 years. then it will make it much, much easier to find another driving job.... plus it will put you closer to first in line to get hired by a company that pays better and is better to work for. when I started driving a truck. I held my first job for 5 years. getting the next job was easy. having to put up with low miles. because then just like now. drivers hop jobs. so getting good consistent miles from dispatch was impossible. any ways I wish you luck.

littleduck, we are almost neighbors, there's a fellow over here in Roxboro that has a bright yellow conventional like in your avatar, do you ever get over this way. I'm on 57 between the lake & town. Lots of truck traffic through here.
