Can't tell which one is better nd either way you are going to one of them because you limited your choice nd don't know better than that. Swift nd Werner are decent gigs you may wanna check them out.

TransAm has nice equipment. Kenworth trucks with automatic transmissions fridge and APU ,nice stereo is what I have heard.

Go to search box and type in TransAm and also newer threads TransAm still There is a ton of info here and people everyday to answer questions , very good info on anything you need to know.

    Very nice group of people.

TransAm runs east of the Colorado Rockies with an occasional Cali run and New Mexico. PTL turned me down because of my credit rating. WTH? I think TransAm is a great place to learn the industry. I know they will be patient with you if you have minor incidences. Also Trans Am does not carry chains so you won't be forced to drive in bad weather. The nice, well furnished trucks have been well documented. If you can avoid the lease and be a company driver, thats the way to go. Learn first, lease later if you desire.

You'll get 100 different answers - they're both 'starter companies', I'd broaden your options, IMO.

90% of it will depend on you, your attitude, work ethic, skills and abilities.

    Choose well, and good luck

You might have your info backwards Chinatown. I don't know where PTL does and doesn't run, but as George memtioned, TransAm runs the eastern US, east of the Rockies with limited runs to California. Just an FYI. ;)

A lot, too will have to do with is how you assess your skill level too. I had no experience or instincts how to drive a truck. You get what you get in school, but for me, it wasn't enough. I needed more time and experience to improve which is why I failed with my previous two companies (Abilene and Howard), but am starting to hit my stride with my 3rd company, TransAm. Having said that, I gained valuable experience with both of them. Seven months worth. If you consider yourself more advanced with a short learning curve, you indeed may be able to bypass the "starter" companies. I did it backwards. I went with more advanced, experienced companies when I should have started at a Trans Am, Swift, Werner, so to speak. Good luck, Travis!
