| rAIDER is a good company. Mike Jr. and Mike sr. are cool people. They really try and take care of there drivers. And you should have plenty of miles. |

| My school today referred me to Raider Express today based on converations I've had with the instructors and other company recruiters. I talked with them, and the recruiter was pretty friendly and rather up front. And it really got me to thinking about going over there instead of the company I already have a pre-hire for. So far this is what I have found out, at least from a student joining the company perspective.
Raider is based in Ft Worth, Texas and that is really their only terminal. They have drop yards all over the country, about 25 or so. And they pull on dedicated contracts only and everything is refer. Since they are based in Ft. Worth they only hire within a 100m radius. They are a very small company and only have about 100 truck and about 200 trailers. I got the chance to meet Mike, Jr while I was there and he was pretty cool. The hole place seems laid back, more like a family atmosphere. Anyone else have any information on Raider? Such as from folks who already work for them or used to? I am seriously considering going there instead of my current pre-hire because of what I perceived as a great atmosphere based on the two hours I spent there talking to not only the recruiter but some of the drivers and shop guys as well.

| I had the privledge of working for Raider. They were open and honest with me. They treated me like family. I wasnt a employee but i was family. And that I enjoyed. They ran me good.Even when i made a decison to leave to buy my own truck they talked to me. And were concerned if I would make it. I wish i had of listened to em. Cause i lost my butt on the deal. So i give them a thumbs up. 100%.. Wish i had of never left. So if ya can get on with thisgood company. Do it. |

| Thanks Wildcat, that's good information. I spoke with them today after I got my CDL and they said they would love to have me based on my pre-hire application. I have the full application package (I picked it up yesterday) and I'll be going over there tomorrow afternoon to turn it in and do my interview. One note, on what I posted yesterday. Raider pays practical miles and not Zip to Zip.

| Maybe I should check into them. I just don't like pulling reefers

| Well, reefers have their advantages and disadvantages. I originally told myself I would not pull reefers but after talking to many folks, including my school instructor who pulled reefers for five years I decided to take a chance on it. The only downside I can think of is the noise of the unit. And they make earplugs for that kind of thing
