If you are near the twin cities I think you would be fine with their freight base.........bear in mind you are free to book brokered freight as well. I am NOT leased to them but do pull some of their loads as an outside carrier.

Battle, I talk to a person who is leasing a truck from them and she seems to do very well! I think being out here would be fine for you. They have some good contracts with Deer.

They do not dispatch you. You pick your own loads off their load board or any pubic load board as long as they approve the broker so where you run and how often you get home is up to you.

I doubt they would be interested in having you lease on to them without any open deck experience as they do not do training. I think they require at least 1 or 2 years experience with open deck freight. Call them and ask.

When you are considering a load they should tell you what the line haul is and fuel surcharge right off the bat. EVERYTHING needs to be upfront.................period! There should not be any shell games when it comes to disclosing information.

Basically you are going to get a left over truck that other driver bailed out of....over and over. You are getting hand me downs. The first thing I would suggest is learning the trucking business and not just relying on what a recruiter tells you. My opinions are basically up front and brutally honest. Some people love it...some do not. You can have 10, 20, even thirty years experience driving a truck. Running a trucking business is a totally different animal.....trust me on this. Learn what you can so you can make a solid informed decision. DO NOT RELY ENTIRELY ON WHAT RECRUITERS TELL YOU! This goes for any recruiter at any company.

The real reason they gave you excuses regarding not whingeing you is because you asked to many question and would not settle with their answers of "I dont know" and "I am not sure." They want a warm body to rent to own one of their hand me down trucks and work (while getting ripped off) until they quit and leave the truck for some other poor sucker.
