I am a new hire at Keim TS. Did I get myself into somethings bad? I have a family and really am starting to doubt my career path. I haven't started driving for them yet but will be soon. Where is this bad dispather out of, Sabetha or Fort Dodge? Any information about Keim would be much appreciated.

Keim TS has let their best and most honest recruiter go from Fort Dodge, IA. The only person who told the drivers the truth with no sugar coating. They say they are a family company but the only family they care about is their own. Most of the dispatchers don't care about the drivers getting loads and will leave them hanging for hours. They have a very negative attitude towards the drivers and don't realize who keeps the lights on in their business. The owner can't make decisions and is constantly blaming others for problems he has created. All I can say is there are better companies to work for. Good luck!

I got hired at Keim and went through orientation and it was two days not one. They seem like a very good company too work for. I was two days from leaving with a trainer but I got a call from a tanker company that I couldn't pass up. Since I was just out of driving school, passing up a tanker job for my first driving would have been a huge mistake. I would have stayed with Kiem if the tanker job didn't come up.

if you dont mind..........what tanker co. did you go with....???.......thanks in advance -
We should re-vitalize this thread since there is very little info on Keim TS elsewhere. And also to correct a couple erroneous statements. First off, yes, Tom is gone, several drivers went with him to another open deck outfit. A few came back a short time later, with nothing bad to say about Tom, just the lanes with Keim suited them better and they felt the money was a bit better. As for home time, if you draw a long run, most likely your going to be out the next weekend, trying to work your way back. I've gotten into cycles where it's up and down I-35 from Houston to the Twins and back to Kansas for the weekend. It seems as if I'm in a regional mode, then boom it's off to California, and you just keep going the eastern seaboard on the rebound. It happens but usually it's not a cheap 200 mile run that won't cover the groceries, the last one for me was a Buffalo to Billings Mt. run over Memorial Day. Made the good money going out and worked it back with a couple of cheaper runs to Iowa. It all worked out good come friday.
The money is decent here, the equipment is all late model, and maintenance is really on the ball. It really was a big issue when I chose to come here, that, when I roll into a scale house, I know I'll be out and rolling down the road quickly. Been there and not interested in a repeat performance. If your truck has an issue, just tell someone. Yea, if it's a dispatcher he'll want to get you loaded then send you to a shop, but that's his job. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, and you may need to repeat it, I'll get my problem fixed though.
If you want to work a flatbed, these guys are a good choice. Just don't complain about the wind, and rain, and dirt, and the heat. It's the Life!WingNut72 Thanks this. -
Do they run all automatics?
