I believe I am gonna need it. Having been rejected by Schneider (I guess my reasons for leaving my previous job is what they didn't like), as well as Watkins & Shepard (credit rating has tanked), I am unfortunately forced to go with CR England for my training to get a CDL. I say forced because I am close to losing my house, and I need a short training period and getting a paycheck ASAP. So, 16 day training at CRE is gonna have to do it. Thankfully I am a quick learner. And believe me, I will not be staying there for long. They don't allow pets, so I will be heading for a company that will allow pets as soon as I possibly can.
Yes, I have read the horror stories about them. Yes, I am very reluctant to go with them. But if my choices are losing my house and my dogs, and followed by losing my car, or going with a horrendous company to get things started, then I will be going with a horrendous company to get things started. I don't want to work for them, but I don't really have a choice. I would have been going with Schneider if they wouldn't have rejected me. My other choice would have been Werner, but I can't wait over a month to get that first check. By then, it would be too late.

So, wish me luck with them. I know that I will be needing it. Lots of it. But then again, they could be decent for me. But I doubt it.

Just keep your head up.You never know, they might sit right with you.Just stay positive and keep your goal in mind.Proceed with caution but dont look back.Just take it all in stride and dont let them threaten you with any BS.If they want you to do somthing ilegal, get it sent over the qualcom and turn them in.Just do what you gotta do,and who knows you just might find yourself not just a different carreer, but maybe a new passion as well.Stick it out and have some fun..Good luck and keep us updated..

I trained with good ole CREngland back in 1997. I had heard the same stories as you have. I actually had a good time there. Try and find a couple of friends to hang out and study with. Just stay away from the idiots. If your a good judge of character, find a couple of nice guys/gals who aren't brain dead, and share the experience with them. In other words, be outgoing! Also, if something doesn't seem right to you, don't be afraid to speak up! Just be cool about it and usually someone will usually correct whatever's bugging you. The training is pretty good compared to what I've heard about other driver mill companies. Just make sure to ask whoever is assigning your first actual trainer if they could give you a break and get you hooked up with one of the really good trainers...they all know who they are. That will make a world of difference. It's one of the most important things that will ever happen in your trucking career. If you get a ###### trainer, it can sour your impression of trucking for the rest of your life. But, on the other hand, if you get a good, friendly, professional trainer, your learning the profession the right way and having a good time while doing it. Anyway, just keep a good attitude and you might just actually have fun.
