I work for AFS which is a division of PAM and its as good a place to get your start as any. Go to school,Get your year in and then your free to go to work most anywhere. I read in the DAC section linked above about people sitting for 7 day in 3 weeks and that has never been my experience. Longest I ever been stuck was 4 days when truck was broke down. Was paid for my time sitting and that only has happened once in 2 years. While the pay isnt quite as high as some other places, we are given more freedom than a lot of other companies, such as we can choose our own routes and where to fuel, etc. Just like any other job there are good things and bad about PAM and how well you do depends a good deal on you.

Hey Toddbs98... ...Pam, and more specifically AFS, is one of my options. The big selling point for me to go PAM over my other option is the fact (the recruiter told me!!) that my wife would be able to ride along as soon as I go first seat. Has it been your observation that that is, in fact, a true reflection of the policy? Y'all Be Blessed!

| Explain yourself. The people who have suggested this company have never driven for them but they have heard a lot of good thing's. Thank everyone else for their input as I can see there's alway's gotta be one rotten apple in the bunch.

Im not sure what the written policy is on passengers after becoming first seat but I have seen people leave orientation, after training , with their spouse with them in the truck. Never have heard the 21 day thing anywhere before.

Thanks Guys.... ...I'm fully prepared to give up a cent or two per mile just so my wife can ride with me. She is NOT interested in driving but we really are best friends and have been for 30 plus years. We go together when we want or we don't go at at all. I've already retired once and have a relatively comfortable income, so if she can go, I'll go; if she can't go, I will not go. Thanks and Blessings to Y'all.
