I was hoping for some insight on Jevic as well. I always hear how they pay really well, but also how they haul a ton of Hazmat too.

Medicine I don't recall seeing them very far west of the east coast.

I hear it's a "run your arse off " job, but they pay decent. I see Jevic trucks all around the midwest, especially Chicago.

your right about that truckdriver! i very seldom see a Jevic truck without 3 or 4 placards on the wagon. They are a pretty good company, they do want you to have your doubles endorsement as well last i herd. they do alot of multipe drops to, they are basically a OTR , LTL carrier. I would say 80% of there loads are 2-7 drops, but like i said they pay pretty well. I have a friend that drives for them, he makes about 70k a year, and is home every other week. he loves it, but he does do alot of NE, NJ,PA,upstate NY, they are out of Delanco NJ, hope that helps, like i said if you dont mind alot of drops and hazmat pretty good company.

I was in Operations at Jevic for longer than I'd like to remember, so I can answer any specific questions you might have about them.

If you are looking for a new employer, I wouldn't look towards them. They have had declining revenues every year for the past 6 years. Today they just closed a few terminals - Atlanta, Charlotte and Cincinnati, now that only leaves 6 terminals. It won't be long until they are only running 1000 trucks out of NJ and Chicago. Stay away.

Do you think Harry

Do you think Harry will step up and by them back? I heard he tried to buy them back several years ago but ultimately failed so he started New Century. Any inside info on this?

He won't buy them back, instead he'll continue to cherry pick their key ops and sales people and just eat up Jevic's market share. Jevic closing Charlotte and Atlanta this week is a direct result of NC opening in Duncan, SC last year.

Ahhh Yes!

Ahhh Yes makes sense. Undermine the old company and accept the key people into the new fold (at New Century) and before you know it Jevic will be just a footnote in the history books as so many before them have become.

Kinda sad because I actually aspired to be a Jevic driver back in the nineties when I was just starting out with JB Hunt. I then tried to get in with New Century shortly after they started up but they had over 300 apps pre-approved on file and no trucks to give to them until that Fall. I couldn't wait so I Joined Eastern instead. All in all a pretty decent outfit in its own right but boy would I rather have 1 of them new big bunk condos with the apu on it and the higher pay too!
