Trucking firm to open Springfield hub and hire 50 drivers Trucking firm to open Springfield hub and hire 50 drivers 3/13/08 Bizjournals.com, NC Quote: A Missouri trucking company will locate a trucking hub in Springfield, creating 50 new jobs. O&S Trucking plans to be fully operational by April 1 at a facility on West Leffel Lane. It will be O&S Trucking's only other hub, or terminal, outside its home base in Springfield, Mo. Brian Underhill, vice president of Ohio Operations for O&S, said in a press release the company considered a site in Columbus but ruled it out because of the 11-hour dispatch time from Springfield, Mo., compared to 10 hours to Springfield. If the law limiting 11 hours of driving in a 14-hour time period changes, a driver could not reach Columbus in one shift, according to the announcement. He said the local hub is ideal for drivers based in the area who want more home time. They should never be more than two days away from the local terminal. Hmmm...their Springfield, Mo hub has been there for quite awhile. My hubby QUIT there 3 1/2 YEARS ago, Are they saying that they are just recently OPENING the HQ there?? Cuz if so, that's not true.
