| Who here has been to the ASU NEWPORT driver training institute? When I go get my CDL training I will be going to Arkansas state university newport with this driver training institute, (ASU) ...... Was wondering if any of you out there have been to this one and did you have a good learning experience or a bad one. Would like to know about the things you should have brought and did not bring ext............ Any advice would be very helpful and useful. Thank you!  |

| I went there Hey I went there last fall read my post (have to start somewhere)I tried to give as much detail as I could hope it helps. If you want to know anything else you can PM me. | My husband started out there last fall. When they got to the DOT physical part, it seemed they needed a release from his cardiologist for a minor heart problem 11 years ago. Would have been no big deal except the doctor was on vacation for two weeks. So, they sent him home. I actually had talked to the ASU office about his previous medical and the DOT physical. They never said he would need any sort of release or he would have had it already. Just to give you a heads up in case that applies. |

| Guess I should follow through with that statement a little. His doctor was located, signed the form and faxed it in within a couple of days. By that time he lost interest in sharing a room with three other men, so he went to C1 which cost more, but he got to sleep in his own bed. I have, however, heard good things about the school in Newport. |
