Ryder agrees to acquire Gator Leasing
Ryder agrees to acquire Gator Leasing
4/14/08
MIAMI—Global transportation and supply chain management services provider Ryder said today it has reached an agreement to acquire the assets of Miami-based Gator Leasing Inc., a full-service truck leasing, commercial truck rental and fleet services provider.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, but Ryder said in a statement that it is expected to be made official in May and is subject to customary closing conditions.
Under the terms of the transaction, Ryder said it will acquire Gator’s truck fleet comprised of roughly 2,300 full service lease and rental units along with approximately 300 contract customers that are served by Gator from its nine Florida-based locations.
"Gator Leasing has been a strong transportation service provider and respected competitor in Florida and we are pleased to have them become a part of Ryder," said Ryder Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Greg Swienton, in a statement. "This acquisition is a key strategic milestone for us in expanding and strengthening our core competence in Fleet Management Solutions."
