New Century to relocate, expand I-81 corridor truckload operation

New Century to relocate, expand I-81 corridor truckload operation
4/22/08
Quote:
New Century Transportation announced that it will relocate its Martinsville, W.Va.-based truckload operation to Chambersburg, Pa., to address the rapid increase of business in the region. The move will create a pool of 150 trailers and 50 tractors immediately adjacent to both established and new volume shippers along the busy Interstate 81 corridor.

New Century says it also will be combining its truckload and volume divisions under one central dispatch point, to be located at company headquarters in Westhampton, N.J. As a result, all truckload moves will be handled directly under the New Century banner.

All drivers and equipment currently operating under the EPAK brand will be rolled into an expanded New Century fleet. This arrangement will provide customers a single point of contact for both truckload and less-than-truckload needs, while simplifying billing and
customer service functions, the company says.http://www.etrucker.com/apps/news/article.asp?id=68546

Oh, too funny. Yeah, they shut down the Martinsburg terminal without any warning, Letting go of all the inside staff (mechanics, dispatcher..etc). There is only going to be a drop lot in chambersburg. There are a lot of E-Pak drivers that have parked their truck and will not work out of NJ. All E-Pak drivers have to redo all paperwork and attend an orientation (even though it is the same company per se, it was only a few months ago that their truck said "New Century").

It's all about money!
