62 jobs could be lost at Stoughton Trucking

62 jobs could be lost at Stoughton Trucking
4/22/08
Wisconsin State Journal, WI
Quote:
Stoughton Trucking, a sister company of Stoughton Trailers, has notified state and local officials that its entire 62-member work force in Stoughton and White Pine, Tenn., could be laid off by June 18.

"We don't plan any layoffs right now, but we're keeping options open," said Ken Wahlin, a board member of the trucking company.
He said the layoffs will depend upon the price of diesel fuel and whether Stoughton Trucking is successful in collecting its fuel surcharges.
"If fuel stays where it is, I'm more optimistic," he said. "It's a very competitive environment right now and some customers won't pay the fuel surcharge."

Founded in 1989, Stoughton Trucking is a flatbed and refrigerated hauler that operates under separate management from Stoughton Trailers. Wahlin said the company has about 30 of its own drivers and also uses independent drivers.

Exclamation Stoughton Trucking....bad bad company

hey i work for this crappy place not for long thou i will be ending my lease agreement next month.. this place is the worst place i have even been too.
it was good at first then they starting making cuts to drivers and office personel. when i signed my lease back in may 07 where good then after a couple months they stopped letting lease ops go west then stopped making us go to texas...why u ask? it cost them too much to send us out there.. so they r send there company driviers only to texas and nobody is goin west.
i was gettin good miles at first then i had a roll-over accident and im lucky to get 3,000 miles in 2 weeks yes i said 2 weeks. they are the worst of the worst... right now they have 30 company drivers and 30 lease ops just though u want to know from someone who is actually there wanna know more let me know
