I have a hard time reading things like this and remembering the many comments by the Republican party: The economy is growing and will continue to grow.

However, these comments are usually made by people who have no touch with reality.

Very sad indeed.

About a month ago 3 or 4 airlines filed bankrupcy in 1 week. I expect to see many more airlines AND trucking companies do the same thing. Oil at $127.00 a barrel, well gas should be over $6.00 a gal. The price is being held back so as not to panic the population.

In China gas is $2.60 a gal. the gov. pays the differance. There's another reason why fuel is going so high, the Chineses are using it up. there r as many Chinamen working in China now as there is people in the USA.

U can thank r own gov. and corporations for putting us in this position.

Our citizens will probably will have to move back to major cities.

The sad thing is we have massive oil reserves under a better part of the mountain west, Alaska, and along the shore lines. However the tree huggers don't want us to drill because we might disturb some insect. Instead, they prefer we remain dependent on foreign oil and could care less the negative impact that dependence has on our economy. When pointing fingers at one party or another, look at the party who has pushed for drilling for our own oil and which party keeps saying "No." Now the Saudis say they see no need to increase production. Well, I for one see no need to continue food and aid shipments to countries like them. I think we need to tell them, "Raise oil production or your food supply is cutoff." Bet oil production would go up in no time once the food and aid quit coming in.

All I know is the party that is supposedly in bed with big oil keeps trying to get drilling for our own oil approved and the party that is supposedly for the people (but lean towards the environmentalist agenda) keeps saying no.

Countries that drill their own resources are paying much less for fuel than we do and their oil companies still make a profit.

Think Honda Civic

Until I see a Honda Civic in every driveway and solar panels on every roof I will continue to think Americans pay too little for gasoline. When my plane goes 140 miles per hour and gets 30 plus mpg you can't tell me we're doing the best we can.

If you want cheap fuel for your semi, then you should drive a Honda Civic for your personal vehicle. Imagine what the price would do if American unleaded use dropped by 2/3 over night. It could if every American went from a 13 mpg SUV to a 39 mpg Honda Civic. And yes, I currently am a hypocrit because my wife and I each own Ford Escapes. We will be addinga Honda Civic soon since Ford won't sell a great gas mileage vehicle.

Check out this site. We need cars like this. Then diesal would be back to 89 cents per gallon.
