Jevic Transportation Closing The Doors
Well, the day nobody thought would ever come is really here. On Monday 5/19/08 Jevic will announce that they are closing the doors to ALL of their terminals and all assets will be liquidated.

It's a sad day for a once great trucking company. They have been in a steady decline for the past 10 years.

I heard this on another site by people claiming to be employees. Is your info solid, or grapevine? I sure hate to see this.

It's 100% true, only a handful of key people were briefed on Friday, it will be announced to everyone on Monday.

This seems to contradict the article posted by cybergal that said they are only closing one terminal affecting approximately 104 people. Those peopl, the article states, will have the opportunity to move to one of the other 10 terminals.

That was four weeks ago. The people running with Jevac said this seems to have come about yesterday.

That article is a month old. The plan then was to close Cincy, Charlotte and Atlanta and the company would be fine. Those on the inside knew that was just b.s. that was fed to keep people from bailing out.

The asset sale will be the first form of profit that Sun Capital Partners has seen since purchasing Jevic.

Forbidden Exclamation Jevic Goin Under??????
OK. Just received a call from a good friend, drivin for JEVIC.. Said that all O/O's were released on friday may 16th.... And some were across country from their home.. Rumor mill, Bein what it is, say's JEVIC is shuttin down Monday May 19, 2008.. Is there ANYONE out there that can confirm this, or any part of it.
