We do have a lot of turnover, but almost every company in this industry does any more. The money is very good, i will gross about 65k this year, but you sure earn it. Foodservice for the most part is not a longterm gig. My biggest complaint is the slip-seating and the garbage equipment. If you need to make good money for a couple years and are'nt affraid to work hard, this is the place.

I work in Columbus and have been here for 7+ years. It is not a job for a "truck driver". There is phtsical work and you have to deal with customers. I go out Monday morning about 8:30am and am home Wednesday at about noon. I go out Thursday at about 10:00am and return about Noon on Friday with weekends off. I have no problem being pressured to run over hours and overweight, In fact they frown on it greatly (termination) for running over hours. We do slip seat and it isn't optimal. I have NO money out of pocket for a route (tolls, hotels, food). We are we taken care of. I have never had a problem surpassing the $65k mark. My highest year was $87k. The money is there if you want it. We only roll in one concept (small, usually under 100pcs) the rest are roller or tailgate stops. If you have ay questions please don't listen to a driver that got fired for being a POS or any other disgruntled employee, Get a good mix. It is not a perfect job, But what is? I will be happy to answer any question you have honestly and openly.

I worked out of Rocky Mount in the early 90's. I was young and just out of trucking school. It was my first driving job so I have mixed feelings about it. I wish I had never left because my seniority after 3 years was #5 on the board, I could pick the runs I wanted. I ran a team run to FL and then a quick SC run. I always took a friend of mine (another mbm driver) on the FL run and any random team runs I took. We had a good time going to strip clubs in fl. Back then 90% of the stops were tailgate- just coat the floor with Oil spray and let her rip. Most of the stops fed us for free- Lone Star, CPK's, Golden Corral, I ate #### good. The job kept me in shape. Dispatch back then would negotiate a bonus for taking extra runs, I once got a $400 bonus on a one day Charlotte run, make em throw in a motel room too.
I saw a lot of drivers tear stuff up,even cause wrecks. Back then they would hire a driver with just a permit. Another bad thing is, once you leave the company to go OTR,after all that work and good free food, you're probably going to gain weight. Great starter job for someone young tho', I miss it.

I have worked for them for 5 months and the money is there. The work is really hard delivering to hardees and captain Ds. You will however make your 60k a year.

Thanks for the info. I'm thinking about applying at the Columbus, Ohio terminal. Any more info you can give about this terminal would be helpful.

I work for the Denver distribution center of MBM. I came over from McLane foodservice almost a year ago. The main reason i left mclane is because everything was a ramp delivery and my knees could not handle the strain anymore. MBM is all lift gate delivery no more ramps. The job is the best i have had in foodservice. Management in Denver is outstanding. The center is outstanding. I would recommend MBM to anyone out there looking for a good stable job. Its not real difficult work where food service is concerned. I live in Ramah Colorado which is 85 miles from the center. I am happy to drive that distance to work for this company. They have mostly new equipment both trucks and trailers. The pay is better than i got at mclane for less work. If you are thinking about foodservice MBM is a place that you could easily work into your 60's. They are good to thier drivers and its unusual to find a company that actually does care what thier drivers have to say. I cant say anything about other centers because i have only worked in Denver. But Denver MBM is the best company i have ever worked for and i have been driving for over 15 years. Hope this helps.

I talked to a MBM driver at a golden corral in durham a few weeks ago. He was maybe in his late 40's, he said good things about them. Said he was usually out for 2 days at a time. Mentioned something about sometimes running a team up north for a few days (kinda vague details). He was doing I guess what you would call a tailgate stop, he didnt have the ramp down. He said they feed him good everywhere he goes!
