Greatwide depends on what fleet you go into... The wal mart awg fleets will shaft you hard right now esp at the smaller terminals... Terrell Texas Cleburne tx and Mcklenny Fl... Most of the drivers I have talked to from these walmart locations are not doing well... We went to suedo force dispatch system... either you take the load or you get moved to the bottom of the line... Yeah I know you have a "choice' but not a real one.

The TM will jumps you if you try to have alife... Greatwide has some really good office people and mechanics but the higher ups are all about them.. They have cut so much in the last year that they really can't cut awhole lot more.... We have been screwed so much.. and they have taken away so much in the name of safety and insurance that we have to work 7 days aweek to make ends meat..

So I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy go there right now.. esp AWG Wal Mart or Target...

We just got a milk account but it seems to be poop as well .84 per mile they were telling the guys 2 weeks ago they couldnt take breaks and if they did they would repower the load and the driver would lose 100% of revenue, and if you said you ran out of hours you had to take your log book to the TM or safety man to verify you werent bullpoopin... Sounds like force dispatch to me.. but supposedly they got that fixed... one of the safety men got in the guys rear that was telling drivers to run illegal.

So, any updates from anyone about the Greatstart program? How is the company doing now that they got out of reorganization? Have rates gone up? Anyone know how they are in the Indiana area?

I just left there after 9 years! It used to be one of the best places to work back when it was CRL! Now, the way they treat their contractors is very disrespectful.

For example, if you pick a load and leave on it and along the way, Walmart decides to "add" a backhaul to you (even though it wasn't part of the original load) you HAVE TO do it or else!

The centralized dispatch system run out of corporate is an absolute joke! I can describe in no more accurately than that! This was all the brilliant idea of one John Simone, Chief Operations Officer, who came to Greatwide from UPS or something like that!

Maybe some parts of Greatwide are ok, but I will tell all of you straight-up, DO NOT LEASE ON TO THE WALMART OPERATION AT EITHER TEMPLE, TX, TERRELL, TX, PAULS VALLEY, OK, AND ESPECIALLY.....CLEBURNE, TX.

If anyone would be interested in reading my old contract, please email me, I will share it with you! It is draconian in nature! It is so sad that what was once such a wonderful company has turned into what it is today!!!

Greatwide is Ok to work for. Leasing from ATBS Leasco was the biggest mistake of my life. They bring you to Colorado, One way, Assign you a truck. You dont get to choose one. Say they are pressed for time and rush you through it. Example on how they screw you... They say at the end of the lease there is a 10,000 lump payment if you decide to keep the truck. You pay that reguardless. Keep the truck or not. You owe ten grand at the end of the lease. If you cant pay it up front you lose the truck and they have a debt collector come after you for it anyway. It is a dirty operation. I can tell you more stories but, if you dont want to have to claim bancruptcy please be carefull and have a lawyer look over the lease. I sure wish I would have. You could get a much better truck for half the cost if you can qualify with a reputable truck dealer.

Tyson would be great but please find a lawyer to look over that lease agreement. I can tell you that you will be getting yourself into a lose-lose situation with that. Me and everyone I know that has gone through the great start has lost our truck and our credit. They have a great operation going turning those trucks over from driver to driver and making tons of money off of drivers like us that buy into there just here to help us succeed crap. It is shady and dirty. They are not interested in helping you succeed. They drain you take back the truck and lease it to the next sucker and come after you for thousands of dollars.
