I found this strand online looking for class action lawsuits against ATBS Leasco. I am fighting them on 18,000.00 they are coming after me for. I can tell you step by step how they get you if you want more info.

Do not do the great start especially through ATBS. If you do anyway, make them give you the time to read through everything and have them explain it. They rush you thriugh it for a reason. They screw you. You will end up at the end oweing them a lot of money whether you keep the truck or not.

Ok, I did my best. I hope i helped someone not make the same mistake I am paying for. Good luck and best wishes

chicktrucker, I hope they listen! I am from the DFW area and ALMOST fell for this trap about two yrs ago. Long story started with Minyards Foods here laying off drivers and office personal and one went to Greatwide and I had the application filled out and everything and my gut kept telling not to do it GreatStart sounded good even looked better than any other lease type program out there from these type companies but gotta go with the gut....I'm sorry you got taken by them ! Always something huh...money money money....

Chicktrucker - This is the first that Leasco have been made aware of your discontent with the results of your equipment lease. We would be happy to discuss the particulars of your situation. Please call ATBS Leasco at 866-431-2448 to discuss further.

I worked for Great Wide out of Pauls Valley. Great Wide is ok. They do force dispatch though. Great start program was the biggest mistake of my life. If I had talked to more drivers I might have avoided the eighteen thousand dollar debt. I have now. It is a scam and you will most likely end up with no truck and in debt in the end. Please at least get a lawyer to look over the paperwork if you decide to do it anyway. They will try and rush you through it and with good reason. I really hope you take my advice. You would be so much better off leasing a truck on your own but if you do go through Great Wide with any of there lease companies, Mine was ATBS...Please, please do yourself a favor and have a lawyer look at the lease agreement. I am currently putting together a lawsuit against them and will most likely end up a class action.

It's my understanding that GreatWide was bankrupt, a few years ago. In the last couple weeks, they just bought Overton Transportation of Lavergne, TN. IDK how one can go from broke to prosperity. Doesn't seem like too stable of a company. Especially, if they partner in shady L/P programs.

Because bankrupt doesn't mean BROKE. It was a "business tactic" to get rid of debt. I know you think I am being a smart a but no I am being quiet literal. They had a meeting the day they were sold to D E Shaw I believe it was and were bragging about how it saved the company something like 100 million in debt and assets. I know a young man that works at their corp office in Dallas he said they toasted Champagne and not the cheap stuff the day the judge let them keep everything.

I was always taught that screwing someone out of money I borrowed was something to be embarrassed about.. They were bragging about it.. That was the day I became VERY VERY distrusting of the money people at Greatwide. I always double checked my settlements before that.. Now I quadruple check them.. If they will screw lenders very publicly out of millions they will surely bend me over for $25...

Yeah, I was thinking in personal terms. When a person can no longer pay their bills, they file bankruptcy. I forgot it's different with businesses. Total BS, I'd say.

    Didn't think that at all.

BTW, I always audit my paychecks. I'm shorted about 1/3 of the time. Multiply that by a large number of drivers, who don't audit their checks, and the company is saving a substantial amount of money.
