Has anyone ever heard of Online Transport of Greenfield, Indiana?? In our local Sunday Newspaper, The Johnstown Tribune-Democrat they had an ad for drivers, regional, dedicated and OTR. Can find no info on this company...any help would be appreciated. Spoke with recruiter, seemed knowledgeable about trucking but hey, I never trust a recruiter!!!

Hey Sinner,
Keep us posted on your orientation.....Let us know the good and bad. I have searched quite a bit for info on this company but have found none. I have been on the look-out for trucks but haven't seen any. I was wondering if Online Transport was under another name and were bought out or purchased and renamed but I have no info that would indicated this change. Anyway, I'm looking forward to your follow-up. Good Luck!!! -
From what I've read, last year Online aquired Lexington Cartage out of Lexington, KY
"Online Transport, a Greenfield, Ind., truckload carrier, said it acquired the assets of truckload carrier Lexington Cartage Co., Lexington, Ky.
The acquisition added 137 tractors and 542 trailers to Online. The company now has 360 tractors and about 1,200 trailers, said Jim Henry, Online's chief financial officer."Last edited by a moderator: Dec 15, 2008

I guess I should reply to this. I've been with Online for less than a year and it's good and bad. Dispatchers are either great or back stabbers. You'll run (OTR) from 1000 to 3400 miles a week. Home time (ex. appointments) means nothing to them, you might get home a few days before or after schedule. They have a real problem with internal comunication. Shop repairs range from very slow to don't care about your time. Pay issues are very good, best payroll office I've seen. Safty guy is on a power trip you can't win, he makes rules tuffer than DOT and you get written up every month. He does have the power to fire at will and does it regular because he can. No company loyalty but ok pay if you get the right dispatcher. They fire on the spot so always keep a light truck just in case you have to pack in a hurry. They give no notice. Seen it happen a few times. Runs mainly east half of US. If you have no reason to go home and can deal with safty issues, it's fair pay. If you've got a temper, don't waist your time, you won't last a month. Equipment is good but dirty, they won't clean between drivers and most of the ones leaving are slobs. The OTR is the best pay, the regional guys all complain short miles and too thight delivery times. All the reg I talked too are trying to chang to OTR. Local runners are hungry. Days off without pay. You can make good money, just got to watch you back. Hope this helps.
Baack Thanks this. -
