I just quit Robinson Transport (Obetz, Ohio) after 3 yrs with them. They are the worst company i have personally driven for. Drivers are treated worse than dogs.
There primary freight base is with Owens Corning out of Newark, OH. Normally you take your load out of Newark to the receiver, then get a backhaul straight back to Columbus to do it again.
I stayed with them for 3 yrs because of the home time (home most every w/e, and possibly once during the week). But the downside here is that you sit A LOT waiting for a backhaul. If you don't want a lot of money, are happy being treated like crap, and want to be home a lot, then Robinson Transport is for you.
Note: if you quit Robinson, Mark Tremain (the safety coordinator) will give a negative review to any company that calls him about you. Other drivers at Robinson have noted this also and it appears to have a purpose of making you unhirable so you go back to Robinson with your hat in your hand.
The above is my personal experience and I stand by it.

As I said in my original post, the up side to them is being home often. I, until recently, wanted to be home often for my daughter but since she just started at OSU, the home time is no longer the overriding priority. Since my wife has a good job, money/miles was also not a large issue. Eventually the negatives outweighed the positives. Also, living about 4 miles from the terminal yard was a small factor in choosing Robinson.
If you read the original post and didn't skip the big words, you noticed that I said they did have a positive (home time). I accurately described their load and backhaul process. For me, sitting somewhere for a day waiting for a backhaul when i should be driving is a killer. If I am away from my family, I want to be driving, not waiting on somebody to do their job. Since my daughter started the fall semester and i don't feel the need to be home as often, the waiting began to have a higher position on my priority list.
Lastly, I do not jump from company to company like so many (too many) drivers. I do not quit just cause a dispatcher pissed me off, etc. But I did reach a point where I no longer had to put up with the negatives.
Someone asked about Robinson. Having driven for them as recently as late September of 2010, I gave my personal experience, with no hidden agenda or axe to grind. For that, I get smart ### replies from nobodies. Is it any wonder why no one bothers to monitor the CB any more, why no one gives a #### enough to let others know about the bear hiding under an overpass?

Robinson Transport
The trucks they give you are junk and they never wash them.Owner Rick Robinson calls it the" recession look". They lie to their drivers and customers.

I'm actually leaving this Company today. I've put up up constant bagering. Dispatchers turning their phones off and not returning voicemails but screaming at me for not answering my phone while i'm driving. Being told its not forced dispatch but being forced out on loads to the North East. Fights to get reimbursed for tolls. Complaints of you need to get your miles above 2500, while im constantly having my truck in the shop.
The equipment is the worst i've ever been in. I had my truck in the shop every week for 9 straight weeks. This past week during the 72 hour safety check. I had my truck getting a hubseal replaced. I asked the mechanics to check the slack adjusters for proper length. they said they didn't have the tools to do it. I asked to have a major air leak repaired before going out and have my break pads and a break chamber replaced. they said nothing was wrong and the pads were still above DOT minimum. 36 hours later. I had a break failure in West Virginia. One other time, after having breaks worked on in a different truck they said it was repaired and all problems resolved. less than 24 hours later I got my first ever Level 1 inspection in Kentucky. Only issue....Slack adjusters out of adjustment. citation. This company truely does not care about the drivers unless you suck up, save their butts on loads that they scheduled to tight, or you've been there for 20 years. I tried to respect them, but when I have my father near death in a hospital and say I'm going home, they try to tell me, NO. i need to take a load out. That is not professional, nor even close to being a decent work enviorment. The miles can be good, the money can be decent, but if you expect respect. you wont get it here.
