Just wondering if anyone has ever heard of these guys or worked for them? They are based out of Pottsville, Pa but also have a terminal in Muskogee, Ok and a drop yard in Grand Prairie, Tx.

I've been talking to them for awhile and finally got word that they are going to hire me here out of Texas.

I haven't found any information on them except for their website but they seem to be a very good company so far. They are family owned/operated, rather small which certainly has it's benefits.

Anyway, I'll continue to post here to let everyone know how it goes.

Just wanted to let everyone know how it's going so far.

I thought it was pretty cool to start off making money right from the start! We picked up loads off the yard and took them to Oklahoma for orientation. It's $50.00 for orientation which is only about a day and half. What a difference from the big companies week long boring orientations. Everyone at the Muskogee terminal was very nice and seemed to be genuinely interested in the drivers.

Breakfast, lunch & dinner the first day were all paid for by the company. The motel was the only negative so far. There is nothing around the area that you can walk to. The motel does have a micro and fridge. laundry and vending. There is not really any breakfast at the motel either, just some bread, coffee and juice. The upside was that you get your own room.

The company is relatively small with only about a 120 trucks. The trucks are all Frieghtliner Columbias w/rig master apu's.

I'll try to post again later once we see how pay & miles are going but so far so good.

Well we made it through the first full week of work. It was very busy! I've been talking with several of the veteran regional drivers and even some of the new ones and they all say that they are averaging between 2200 and 2800 miles a week.

The local guy said he made about 50-60 hours but thats just because he is the only local guy right now and his hours will probably drop when the other guy comes back from medical leave and or they hire another driver.

They pay rand mcnally miles so you do loose some pay. Insurance is not cheap but then none of them are! It's not to bad as far as coverage goes for a small company. My family and I don't go to the doctors that much so its a pain to even pay for the coverage.

If your willing to work they can keep you rolling as long as you stay out of Houston, Tx. The freight is real slow coming out of there right now.

As rumors go, the Oklahoma drivers are talking about their possible downsize and terminal closure while the Dallas drivers are talking about their expansion and possible terminal being built. Things seem to really be going good for us down here so far.

The trucks aren't to bad. There is no space for a cooler but they have enough cargo space for a regional driver and you can always use the passenger seat for your cooler. They are almost all automatics but have rig master apu's on them. They run 65 off the pedal or cruise control. They do seem to take pretty good care of their equipment and try to do as much in house as possible to keep cost's down.

As far as I know they are still taking applications for drivers living in the DFW area so if your out there looking for a job check them out or message me and I can send you the link. (I don't think we are suppose to post them on here)

Well the great ride is finally over. we were told on Tuesday March 3rd. that the owner has decided to close the Texas & Oklahoma locations. The rumor is that he will eventually close the Pennsylvania location as well. I was working as a local driver and making good money with all the hours I was getting from week to week. My Ops Manager and the rest of us Texas drivers all thought that things were going good down here. We had been hearing rumors of Oklahoma closing but didn't think it would happen to us. I guess the good news is that they did tell us and didn't just close the doors. They are also allowing those drivers that want to stay to continue working and help bring trailers/equipment back to Pennsylvania. I hate to see them go out. I've been watching the market place and now that I have actually been out looking for a job - it's really tough. There are so many drivers out there looking and so few companies hiring. Those that are have such a buffet of drivers to choose from that you really have to figure out what makes you stand out from the other guy. I am seriously considering getting out of trucking for awhile and trying something else. It's probably a good time to do that. I've been wanting to go back to school and finish my degree so now might be a good time.

Well anyway - its was fun while it lasted. To everyone out there looking for a job I wish you all the luck in the world. To all of those fortunate enough to have a job - count your blessings and I hope this doesn't happen to you.

As for the economy...I hope those that voted for Obama are happy! Let's all welcome in Socialism, say goodbye to freedom and hello to BIG Government. I'm looking forward to the end of the world at this point!

Thanks for the info Joe. I think I'm going to give them a try as they're close to the house (easy commute and I can leave the truck at the terminal) and I've "heard" that, despite the older equipment, they treat their drivers fairly well. We'll see I guess.
