If you go to work for cargill make sure they dont pay by the hour or you wont be making short runs where you leave on sunday and get back on tuesday and no other work for the rest of the week. Only local runs should be paid by the hour, where as you should get at least 40 hours and not just 20.
-
they are owner op./ they pay by % or mile, anyone leased on or know someone who is ?????
-
dont know what your lookin for but in dayton ohio i know one carrier for them (tanker) called carry transit
-
was leased to them for around 5 years. quit about 4 months ago and kinda doing my own thing now. if you have your own trailer it is 85% or pull theirs and get 72%.
its not like it use to be there. safety was getting to strict about having to match time on fueling and making sure you took your full 10 hours off. i still talk to several people that are there and it is slowly going downhill. know some people that were there longer than me that are leaving and most of them are going on their own.
it was good money when we didnt have to match times and all that. when your a meathauler no such thing as a 10 hour break. any more questions let me know and im sure i could answer them for ya. -
Anybody out there have any exprience with Cargill Meat Logistics as far as their owner operator program is concerned???????
-
was leased there for about 5 years. got tired of the new guys getting better loads than i was getting. its not a bad paying company, just got tired of being told how long i could drive my own truck. was good when i started there but slowly got worse. still talk to a few people that work there and its not getting any better for them atleast.
hard to be a meat hauler and have to follow the 11/14 rules anymore.Guitarstring Thanks this. -
I was leased there for 6 mos..and by the time I left I had to refinace my truck n trailer... Their all talk and no go! Stay FAR FAR AWAY!
