That post by Wanderer1 is pretty old, but for future reference, I will give info. on CF. Overall, I think it's a decent company. They are liars about driving the Northeast portion of the country, however. They (the Fulmers) go on and on about how they are Christians, but I found out this also, is false. My entire work history, I have had only 1 death in my family where I asked to attend a funeral. I missed it because the dispatchers could not have cared less. Dispatch is like a revolving door, BTW. They also do not care about any health or vision issues you may be having. I say this because my long-standing (I requested off 6 months in advance) appointment for the kidney doctor and eye exam, had to be cancelled 4 times. By the time I got to go see my doctor, I had a kidney infection (this is potentially FATAL!!!) and two more stones, and had been in my first accident in my total of five years driving a truck, because my lenses on my glasses were like looking through a dirty fish tank (they were clean, but were old and deteriorated). Most of the people working in the office are nice. They will work with you on most things. Bring a roll of quarters with you to the Groveland terminal, and plenty of $$$ for food. There's nothing to eat close to there, unless you bobtail, and then don't tell them you are going in your bobtail. I left because they tried to force dispatch me to the worst hell-hole they go to. I wrote customer service a letter and gave a copy also, to my dispatcher at the time about this particular place. They ignored my effort to communicate about issues I had been having with an employee there who screams and yells at me everytime I go up there. Because they would not address the issue, I asked for them not to send me there anymore. Although I am cheerful and try hard to get along with and assist all customers I pick up/deliver to, I felt my patience was all used up on this one b-tch. Two years of one person's crappy attitude is enough for anyone. There was a noticeable effort on her part, to try and get me to do something that would get me into trouble. I quit because CF tried to force me to go there (even at Star Transportation, you get the right to refuse a dispatch after a year!). Upon leaving, they put that they would re-hire me on the separation notice. 10 months later, (I rested and tried to help my family with their work when I needed money) they refused to rehire me. It's no big deal, honestly. I have a CDL (I kept my physical up to date, and re-issued my CDL). My family does not want me to do OTR again, and they take care of me, since I took care of them while I drove. My sister is a disabled veteran, and all the money I had left over went to her and her family. That they would not re-hire me shows me that CF are fake Christians. While I was there, I always helped them during holidays when no other drivers would volunteer. I drove all the trucks to be repaired and get bodywork when I could have sat in the lounge and enjoy myself. I did not ask for a dime for that! When I turned my nice newer truck in, it had not a single scratch on it! And, it was clean, unlike the roach-infested first truck they gave me. Best wishes to any drivers who try this company. Just don't do anything for them without charging them. Make sure you don't get sick, LOL.
