Well to give u guys an update my trainer went home for the weekend and I went home my lady and my lil boy. But so far last week was crazy we get a 5 stop load, no problem first stop AL last 4 Tn my trainer did the first two to show me how to go check with the guard shack go inside hand in paper work and deal with the lumpers. I do the last 3 so I got to the 3rd reciever, check in get door #3 no problem they unload 3 pallets give us the paperwork send us on our way. Now here's were the story gets interesting the 4th stop is publix no not the warehouse an actual publix store now my common sense kicked in and I said to myself publix has their own trucks to deliver to the stores but life of a trucker u see sumthin new everyday so I didn't say nuthin to da trainer. So we pull in check with da managers they said this is unusual but hey pull around back and back in on either dock. So the other manager common sense kicked in and he said let me look at the stuff first and sure enough they didn't order the stuff and don't even carry it so we double check the bills and it has on there call melanie so we asked for her thinking it was another manager they said never heard of her. So we call the number and a lady picks up and come to find out she ordered the stuff and used publix address but publix said no were not takin it off the truck and its her issue. So she said deliver it to her house I pause.............. and said yea right we not takin no 53' trailer to no neighborhood she said well then she'll be there in 5 min. Now our company said screw it and get to walmart DC for our final stop and deal with it later. so as I pull out im half way in the street she comes and blocks the truck and I almost hit her. She comes to the truck with sum guy and demand we open the doors and unload the truck in the middle of the street and the trainer called the police now its only two pallets but company said get to walmart and to not unload the truck. Mind u dis lady aint got no pallet jack no forklift she said yall break da pallet down and put da boxes in her truck........... lol so the cops came and made her get out the street because our truck was blocking traffic then told her if she has problems call our company and sent us on our way. We get to walmart unload then is told take the trailer and swap it with another driver so he can take it to our warehouse in Ga because we already had a preplan headed north. So that's my story to tell for the ages lol my dad drives and he never had dat happen. Well im home with the lil 1 and I gave him a lil bit ice cream he's only 9 months so im payin for it now and his mama wants a lil attention b4 I leave so yall take care and I'll hit yall up when I get back in the truck.

Well a lot of drivers love loose leaf logs so they aint gotta use 2 and 3 log books. But for real I aint been there long enuff to speak on there mechanics. I do know I wouldn't mind running hard in this economy when guys would kill to run period. They seem to be organized to me and the other drivers I talk to and if ur on time and u call in for detention u get it. The procedure is this u get dispatched and within in 24hrs of gettin to your reciever you get a pre plan messege so u keep rollin. If u need time of tell em when and how many days u need and nobody I talk to said they had trouble gettin home on time sometimes early sometimes late but u get home and if u really need to be home by a specific time ie, 1400 ur ther by that time. I will say night dispatch is hard to reach but that's everywhere. Overall they cool but this comin from a trainee and other Wel drivers

Your first year with a company like Wel 600-800 is realistic because of the miles and they have a lot of multi stop loads $30 a pop but alota other companies it can vary between 200-300 a week and sum of the better 1s 500-800 but in your first year its rare now and days to really make a lot of money like 1000 and up and its sum guys with years under they belt and still haven't seen 1000 check.

And I forgot to mention the fact that a lot newbies forget the fact that if u went to skool and u didn't pay outright sumbody gotta pay for it so during your first year ur gonna have alotta deductions and if ur flat broke when u start drivin then u definatly won't be makin a lot cuz u take out to many advances and everything u see in a truckstop u want. I even felt like a kid in a candy store but I call my lady and she just remind me that da light bill do or our son needs more apple juice lol. But in all actuality just save and get ur feet under u b4 spendin.

They have customer paid detention, self explanitory, you send a people net message to dispatch and another to the lady that bills the customer. The dispatcher is supposed to fill a form out on your det. and send it to the det. billing lady, and I also called when det. started and ended, along with 2 more people net messages. You rarely get paid det.,because Wel in my opinion has it contracted where the customer doesn,t have to pay. Why do you think they have more freight than anyone. This is how exp. drivers do it there, you get decent miles the 1st few weeks like anywhere, then when there freight blowsup, the exp. drivers get dispatched to run,24 plus hrs. staight and we see they don,t care how we run,it,s all about covering the load because dispatchers know we will. So we run day and night, because we know our limits and when we need to park and sleep 2 hrs. To be smart about it I wouldn,t suggest doing that, it,s the old school way. I would send earlier eta,s on a d-h, to get on a another load, push it,I would have stayed there a little longer, but they wouldn,t get me a better truck. You need good equipment to run hard.So I have no hard feelings against Wel ,I now realize the pushing it was half my fault.I just couldn,t stop myself from pushing it, I,m a little surprised that I wasn,t canned from dispatching myself. haha Anyway Best of Luck to you.

Aight folks just to give u all an update my trainer is unhappy with the miles he been gettin the past two weeks since I been on the truck (right b4 I got on he switched driver managers) so he said he's done with training and he's goin home untill "things pick up" so now I have to go with another trainer . But 1 thing my trainer said is that im well advanced and don't need anymore training. But any ways the insurance company require 5 weeks. It kinda suck cuz but o well. I talk to the other student driver and he said they been coast to coast twice so I don't know why we get these regional runs. I've tackled the east coast mountains now I wanna tackle the west coast mountains. But we'll see what happens I just know it suck having to switch trainers.
