    Think Twice and do more research before go for WEL
    Here is my story: I'm in Dallas,TX and a recent Grad CDL.
    Schneider and WEL call me back a day after submitted my application.
    According to Truck report I pick WEL with APU and more mile;
    I suppost to take Gray hound from Dallas,TX to Green Bay,WI for 4 1/2 week training
    I got Gray Hound Confirmation number, Taxi phone number etc from WEL companies recruiter name Jody Dufek.
    When I arrived Gray hound station in Dallas downtow on Lamar st.
    Guest What ! No confirmation number !
    No Ticket ! have been reserved under my name or WEL company.
    The confirmation number that I have under someone name and go to New York not Green Bay,WI.
    I have been call and wating an hour and 1/2 at Gray Hound station for WEL companies to call me back...( Na da and go home)
    Two hours later after I got home...WEL's recruiter name TJ call me and gave me another Gray hound comfirmation number for Ticket.
    I need to think twice and more ! I'm not sure I'll have Taxi to pick me up ! I'm not sure I'll have Hotel for the night !
    More than that ! If I decide to work for WEL companies " I'm not I'll have WEL Support team when I needed"

    4 worded answer to that question 'Stay Away From Here'. I didn't see a single lease operator here who wasn't loosing their ### to the lease. Look if you really want to throw your money away on a fantasy I will gladly accept it, and smile and say thank you for the cash. Your best bet is to work as a company driver until you save enough for a down payment. Then the truck will be trully yours. If you don't want to listen then i say go for it. But don't be on here in 6 months whining about how you should have listened. A friend of mine who is still a dispatcher at WEL tells me the company counts on ignorance to get people to pay them for their trucks. Ask anyone I used to drive truck 1735 at well. They know me. I was never a lease driver here.

    luvtotruck Thanks this.

    Just an added precaution; The lease/purchase plan they started in late 2011 is also a plan to dump their garbage. Since they obviously had no form of amortization in place, the fleet has aged considerably. When I drove for WEL (2010-2012) the newest truck I got in was a 2009. They have a number of 2007 & older they need to sell. Because of this age & high mileage, they are high maintenance and WEL offers a very limited warranty. If you're serious about wanting to lease, look into JKC or JCT.

    Hello Lazygeco, my name is Anthony, I just recently graduated from school getting my cdl trying and praying for an opportunity to jump on board with the company, I just put all my paperwork thru to the recruiting department. fingers are crossed. Since I was 18 I was surronded by trucks and passenger saet cover over the road on and off with my cousins, I had a permit for a few years handled the wheel from time to time . Just excited overall to accomplish a new task in my life with a wife and kids. But the reason I inboxed you is because I wanted to know if you would mind mentoring me along the adventure to becoming successful within wel and what not to do durring the orientation, road test? My main reason is because I dont want to fsil my family and most of all myself any information will be greatly appreciated. *correcttion FreightPusher425

    Hellow everyone I just applied to Wel and every since tne conversations on the phone with the recruiting Department I have been excited. I always been in tne transport/trucking industry and I always wanted to just run for a company, I'm not on here looking for complaints just good advice like how to vet past the orientation, the road test, how to pass, how to manage your dutys withe the trainer better yet how to make thru training to get your truck and start putting miles and experience under yojr belt

    Hey Anthony! I've started and been Wel for two years. I am currently a trainer and find the company a good fit for me. The pay is pretty decent and they have treated me well. I will say compared to other companies you will earn more and not necessarily run 11 hrs a day. Good luck!
