Heyo mate! Yay Austin, I listen to 101x all of the time on the road, mainly Jason and Deb. They are the best! A lot of things have changed for the better since my last post! I still work for both but I predominantly work for Bennett now. I love Quality, but Goshen Indiana is a ##### to get to without a tow car. And, they simply don't pay enough. Their bond eats too much of my pay every time, not to mention the "pull out fee". That means they didn't ### inside of me. Jokes!
I don't have a partner anymore. I'm still very good friends with said partner, but he was buying craigslist cars for $800 and they were breaking down on every run. We got stranded for days in Florida because of this. His solution? Buy another piece of #### and tow the broke one back. Long story short, he has 5 cars and all of them don't work. He was also slow as #### and hurt my income significantly. I make way more now running on my own. I don't do less than 610 a day if I have a run that far. I've been doing an incredible amount of runs where I fly back (I'm at Boston Logan now) and I almost have enough to be on the A List for Southwest. I'm still lonely, but I'm having a lot of fun. I have seen 25 of 30 hockey arenas, and in two weeks I will start following my favorite band on their tour haha. Feel free to see my adventures at VanessaLovesHockey.com
I predominantly do motor homes now, but there were plenty o' school buses, chassis (my poor boobs, good thing they aren't big), bobtails, and box trucks. UPS trucks are the worst!
If you need any drive away advice, don't hesitate to ask!

How much do they pay per mile for driving Motorhomes? And why are UPS trucks not good to drive? And I see u use Southwest to fly back, what about backhauls?
Thanks Al. -
The NCDL are .49 and the CDL are .52. There is also a pick up close by that does garbage trucks and I hear they pay in the .60s but I've never gone there. Ups trucks are awful because they have no ac, heat, radio or charger. They go cling clang cling clang all the way down the road and are a nightmare to sleep in. And they bring unwanted attention. I've been harassed by a woman who told me I stole the UPS truck because I wasn't in a uniform and proceeded to take my picture. Another guy told me someone called the cops on him!
I'm not a fan of Back hauls because they are always somewhere I can't get to without a hefty cab fee, and for the most part, there are none. I normally go Far East or west, never to the places where more is. And I like flying. My degree is in writing so I use this time as my personal time to read, write, and feel like a normal woman instead of the sloppy looking driver I have become haha. Just kidding, I'm still 100lbs, but I'm sure that's not going to last. -
How many miles do you average a week? And when do you get paid after you deliver your load? That's not bad money for garbage trucks.
-
Same day but sometimes you gotta call and nag em if they forget. I send my paperwork in on my iPhone. Hmm normally I do two long runs in 8 days so that's like 3,400 miles or smaller ones so three averaging 3,2000 in 8 days.

Those are nice miles to run! So you run about 500-600 miles a day. I left a msg with Bennett, my app is in already. I have a toyota camry 1995, its probably cheaper to fly Southwest though. Ur thoughts? This sounds like something I'd really like to do, since I love to drive and see the country. All my driving has been local, but this would be really good for me. Do they give the runs to the first come, first serve or is it based on seniority? Sorry for all the questions.

I also work for this company as a part time retirement job mainly for a tax deduction, I stay at motels through CLC and only work 3 or 4 days a week. Sure wouldn't want to try to make a living at it.
They do have a load board posted online but I know personally that a lot of the best paying loads never make it to the board. I know a couple of drivers out of Atlanta run nothing but the local $2 a mile trucks that never happen to be on the load board.
Having said all of this, this is probably the best drive-away company out there, I also do some work for Truck Movers, mostly as back hauls and most of the drivers I met there are either essentially homeless or one driver with a toad and charges 2 or 3 other drivers to haul them back and stay 2 to 3 at a motel room or sleep in trucks which is supposed to be against "company policy"..BufordTJustice007 Thanks this. -
Just got signed on with Bennett and Truckmovers. I wanted to find out any information I could get on either. I don't want to make a financial mistake by doing this.

Be careful.
Good Luck.
