| The 3 months is just to get you in the drivers seat. They know that a few months with them you will be well seasoned and can handle anything!

| Stay AWAY from JB HUNT...YOU will get burned!!!!!!! Those guys up in Lowell really enjoy turning the screws to you. You will most definetly get frustrated with there BS that your either gonna quit before your insurance takes effect or they will terminate you prior to the $ amount necessary for U/I or benefits. STAY AWAY!!!!!!! |
| |||
| The latest deal they have is the whole advertising $0.43/mi but by the end of this year there will only be 200 OTR company jobs, all drivers are being required to switch to local, regional or dedicated at a GREATLY reduced pay. Most dedicated are only paying around $0.30/mi and 2000mi/week. |
| |||
| Word on the street is that JB is reducing there OTR fleet. I wouldnt jump on a sinking ship. Unless you are running in there DCS division you wont make any money. Interstate and Celadon are a couple of good OTR companies. |

| Unless JB's Insurance has changed in the last three years....you will have nothing but trouble in trying to get them to pay what they say is covered. They stalled for 2 years in partly paying for my stay in the hospital. They used the reasons that a particular code number from the hospital wasn't covered....and on and on. I spent hours on the phone with first one person and then another and no one had recorded any former conversations....we were stuck with about 3/4 of the bills! We gave up and my husband had been really "starved out" of driving for them. He sat while other trucks that had unloaded after him took loads. We had made too much noise about being mistreated! He went to JB because the health insurance looked better...and the really NICE recruiter had been 'mixed up' about the coverage was the excuse that the company used for the poor excuse for insurance. The company they had then was out of Jackson, Mississippi. |

| From when I started with them in the 90's I watched the medical change several times, each time the cost went up and coverage went down |

| I went to orientation with JB Hunt and was not hired on. They paid me $50 plus $15 in credit to eat at their cafeteria (im told that last part is only at the chicago terminal, so whatever), reported to DAC and IRS that I worked for them. Not a big deal but it doesn't look good when your DAC shows that you worked for someone for 1 day. Other trucking companies just dont get what JB does when they set up orientations. Anyway, what they do is they bring a ton of people into orientation, tell them that they'll be hired and everythings great, and dont even bother to check ANYTHING until they are already at orientation. It's just an absolutely dirty tactic period. What if I had quit a job to go work for them, and found myself with no job at all? That's why I will never work for them "again". They also encourage you to jump onto a bus to get to orientation immediately....encouraging you to burn bridges by not giving notice to previous jobs. Their style of orientation is also highly confusing. They split our huge class into iirc 4 groups, who were all to do everything in a different order. There was little warning when you were to move onto a different activity. If something takes a few minutes too long, you get left behind and have to figure out where the next activity is. The yard was huge and I bout got lost when I was looking for where i was supposed to do the backing test (lol), because it was waayyyyy in a corner. The worst part is i wasn't hired because I admitted to an "accident" that my previous employer did not care about at all, and it was not on record as an accident on my DAC or HR files. I screwed myself, oops. |
| ||||
| Think of that as a blessing. They would find some other way to hose you along the way and totally screw up your DAC....your better off going elsewhere. |

| pjw044, really? I was entirely unemployed for 4 months after that, and i had to leave home and be homeless for 6 months because of family problems which would have been avoided if i had a sleeper... seems like jb woulda been a lot better. infact, i wouldve worked for free for crst some more if i knew that. |
