USA TMC (Acronym for Tarp More Cargo)

I totally agree with you Cocky. When I started trucking 11 years ago I chose TMC for two reasons. The money and I also knew that I would stay in shape from the physical part of flatbedding. I also was taught creative logbooking by my trainer. We also had a couple of near incidents from lack of rest. I also forund that there are an awful lot of narcs that would call in if your load failed to look like gift box going down the road. If you check out all the rest areas on the east and west side of Des Moines you will always see 2 or 3 trucks in there getting the truck in inspection order before they go to the yard. As a matter of fact, the "straw that broke the camels back" for me was when I went in to the inspection bay at the terminal and this 18 yr old punk wrote my truck up for having paperwork on the dash, dirty windows, and a bag of trash on the floor. I had to see my dispatcher the next day before I could leave and she was downright rude. Needlessly to say, I left TMC within a month. Plain and simple, I was burned out.

Yes it is, and yes he is! Helping me a lot with tarping this week! Totally different world from tank yanking! He's going to be calling his FM tomorrow and going to try and get us tied up with a big coil load to shake my gun shyness towards them and get it out of the way while I'm being trained.

Well took my test in Ellenwood yesterday. 100 on the test! Heading up to Gary to get my truck. Just look for the Lefthander stickers on the sleeper side doors!

I got my prehire letter from Roehl too. Going to Marshfield July 18th and will be heading to the national flatbed division. This forum has been instrumental for almost all of my decisions. Thanks for all the wisdom and hopefully will be seeing some of you on the road soon! Keep safe drivers!

Roehl is like any other trucking company. They all tell you what you want to hear. But that is the trucking biz.I went to their advanced training in Marshfield, Wi.Yes the staff was very nice. But they are very well trained too.Like a car salesmen. They want you to get your passport at your cost, and your (TWIC) at your cost this for you to enter ports at a cost of $133.00 and the locks for your trailer they will payroll deduct. They will help you pay for them upfront and will payroll deduct it later. And they do charge a dollar a week for ezpass and prepass. Now here is a company making millions and charging drivers a dollar a week on company trucks. After a week their and what i seen and heard I left on good terms yes nice folks in Marshfield. But for a company not even to split the cost. Some people might say its a dollar whats the big deal.ITS A COMPANY TRUCK.

I am also hoping to attend the July 18th class. I will be coming up from Rockford, Illinois. It all depends on whether I pass my State test tomorrow.

You won't put anything on their truck. They don't even let you put the stickers in the windows to keep the lot lizzards away. If they don't put it there it is not supposed to be on the truck. Have fun!
