    I don't want to be rude, but you have a brand new truck on the way and no place to lease on with. Either you like to gamble or you like stress...

    Right now its hard to say "go here" cause all the carriers are only hiring experienced guys. Also you didn't specify what you want to pull. That can make a big difference. Another question is how much involvement do you want to have? Do you want to just run on a mileage systemor percentage with a dispatchor, do you want to deal with agents and pick your loads from them, or do you want to pick your loads off a load board?

    A few companies are not taking outside trucks now (CRE & Swift I know for a fact). Good luck.

    To be quite honest I don't know why anyone with experience would want to drive for CRE or Swift anyway. No big loss that they're not hiring in my book.

    I'd give Des Moines Transportation Co., DMTC a call. They always treated me right. They're an all O/O company, mostly reefer and some dry van. They run all 48 states and will treat you right. Ask for Jack, he's the owner and he'll talk to you directly and answer any questions you may have.

    You would if you were on a dedicated fleet like Walmart or Target.

    Yeah, I don't think so. I've never been one for big companies. I come from a family of small businessmen and I like the qualities that come with that tight knit group of people. I've hauled loads to Walmart dc's and I've delivered to brand new Target's just being loaded with shelving, racks and carpet. Just not my gig.

    If you are willing to run as a team AND can get a security clearance as well as Hazmat I would suggest checking into the following outfits;

    SLT a division of Expressway Group

    R&R

    TSMT

    Each of these outfits specialize in hazardous materials and offer some of the highest compensation available to lease ops.
