any miller transporters drivers in here

hi all was wondering if anyone knows if Miiller hires up in Michigan I see there trucks up here in Dow all the time there drivers seem very happy with them. And also there truck purchase program seems like its on the up and up anyone know anything about it thanks

I too am a Schneider National tank yanker. I've been with them for a little over a year now as a company driver & I can tell ya, as such, it sucks, Big time & definately looking into making a change real soon.

I stepped out of the truck in '96 after about 10 years in dry bulk to raise a kid, and then came on with schneider back in September of 2010. I've been very lucky so far in regards to no tickets or Accidents for well over 30+ years.

What I would like to know is, How hard would it be to get on with Miller? I would really like to own my own truck, but not one of those Internationals or volvos they are showing on their website. The Only truck I would ever own again is a Pete 379 or 383, as a 379 is what I had way back when.

Where do they get their Trucks from, and how often do they get good low milage Petes in?

I see on their web site where they state a minimum of 2 years experiance. Is that recent or a total?

I live about 60 miles north west of Charlotte, NC, what terminal would I most likely run out of and what could I expect as far as runs & Miles. I think I would really like the dedicated stuff as that is pretty much what I am doing now. It lets me get home most weekends for at least my 34hr restart, however there have been times, ie. like this weekend (New Years) I've been home since Friday afternoon and so far, they have nothing on me as of yet (Sunday Night. Was told to check in around 8am on monday) so of course I get like a 3 - 4 day off. Not complaining about it, it's definately kind of nice for some much needed R&R & a few beers, LOL

Any info would be GREAT!! The Sooner the Better as I am SO READY to get back into the O/O saddle again.

Decided to work in Houston Tx for miller today, GOOD OR BAD DECISION

 

If you're going to lease on to Miller Transporters Channelview, TX is the terminal to run out of.
More long trips going both east and west and the people that work there are pretty good to deal with.
It's their largest non union terminal also which is good because when freight is slow the union company drivers get loads first in terminals like Memphis and Mobile.
I left the company a year ago when they went to the new dispatch system where the computer picks your loads and haven't talked to anyone still there to see how that is working out. I just couldn't see myself being paid on revenue and not having a say in what I hauled or where I went. Are you buying a truck from Miller or do you already have one?

 

Miller transporters is one of the good companies around, as I’ve heard from their drivers. The only complaint is that they have to stay out for weeks together, which is not really acceptable to all, though some drivers do it by choice.. But there are some drivers who get to go home on the weekends, so it depends on the terminal you are working for.

The Nitro drivers I talked to while I was leased to Miller said that they had to get a load out of there and not come back until they wanted time off at home. They do a lot of "Dedicated Loads" for Dupont out of Belle, WV going east and the extra 4% of gross that they give you for coming back empty doesn't even cover the fuel.
The only other shipper that they have in that area is Adisseo in Institute, WV and their chicken feed additive doesn't pay that great. My favorite shipper while there was Lucite in Woodstock, TN where they shipped Monomer 7 days a week which paid well and was almost always unloaded by the customer.
If you have never owned a truck before you may be happy in the new Miller system but forced dispatch on percentage of revenue pay wasn't for me. One perk while you are running a truck financed by Miller is that you never have to worry about repairs. They will cut a Comchek and bill you in increments that you can afford. You could definitely do worse than Miller.
