I looked into them just shy of 2 years ago when I was searching for a carrier to go because the carrier I was with was selling. I wasn't too impressed with what Oberg had to say. I could do better on pay, and freight/miles wasn't impressive. I put them on the back burner and looked further and went with another carrier. I have not heard any real bad about them. They consider 2200-2500 miles (remember, 2 years ago) as being a real good week. Heck, I am still doing better than that now, even with this economy. No telling what they consider a good week now. Just make sure you ask them who their primary customers are. That can mean a lot no matter the miles or pay. If you got lousy customers, then it is a miserable way to make a living. Can't remember what they had for a hometime policy. Their safesat rating with FMCSA isn't bad.

Thanks. I think I'll check further. Seems like a time to have your guard up with these companies.

    Truck

My husband drives for them. They are home every weekend, but that's about the only perk you have. I agree with the amount of mileage...my husband's had better elsewhere. Pay isn't great and they look for just about any reason to dock money off your pay per mile. Just my two cents...

I have never worked for oberg. Living in the ft dodge area, I have never heard much bad about them. I know they run mostly midwest, silgan cans and pet food out of ft dodge. You will be home on the weekends working at oberg. I have also noticed they are getting some apus on the company trucks. You will run in the same traffic lanes, that they have ran for years.hope this helps
