You get paid by how much soda you sale or deliver. You do get a hourly rate but most of your pay is by sales.I may be wrong but thats what I was told.I applyed once before with them and during the interview(no I didnt get the job:biggrin_25510:) thats what the guy told me.

The job description says Drives a tractor/trailer truck to make long-distance pick-ups and deliveries of predominantly finished product or materials/supplies. Checks and/or assists in the loading/unloading of the trailer. Obtains proper authorization for all deliveries/pick-ups. Responsible for checking vehicle for proper and safe operating condition before and after each trip. Must maintain a DOT driver's log and adhere to all DOT regulations. May occasionally be required to stay over night.

Position requires working tractor/trailer components, including bending and cranking landing gear as well as climbing in and out of cabs and sitting for extended periods of time. Also requires lifting cases weighing 20-45 pounds if they fall in trailer.
That really looks more like deliveries between the distributors and not the customers like the bulk drivers do. Did they say what the pay was?
    thanks

Pepsi is about one of the most yanked up gigs you could get. Coke would be better in my opinion.

When I was pulling a box OTR several years ago, every pepsi load I got was always messed up. Wrong something and over weigh. Pull out and go weight then they want to wait hours to pull a pallet off. I would tell them never mind I will just chuck them off one at a time....:biggrin_2554:

I know several formal local drivers here and they all said it was the worst company they ever drove for. Shorted on pay every week. Most of the time if they delivered and the store sent product back the wages was taken out of the next paycheck.

My wife used to be the grocery manager at wally world and she said pepsi was their worst vendor. I know some guys that work at coke and they have nothing but good things to say. Don't know what the deal is with pepsi, but several states I had run ins with them.

Pepsi loads are pre-sold. A salesman goes through the store, works through what product is on hand, sees what the store will need on their next delivery, and also gathers up return items.
You have the small truck delivery, that has all the doors on the sides of the truck. They roll everything in on a two wheel dolly.
The tractor-trailer driver delivers to larger accounts, and uses an electric jack to unload the pallets. Most of these larger accounts has a Pepsi rep that comes in almost daily, and works the product onto the sales floor. He should also keep his backroom stock neat and tidy. Usually, a mandatory rule with most retail establishments.
Don't know what they earn pay-wise, but I always see the same drivers in the tractor/trailers.
    Same with coke.

I have had several Pepsi loads and have no complaints. As for actually working for pepsi from what i know you never actually work for pepsi but for a distributing company and the pay and benifits are different all over. Some of the jobs where i live working there has been great for all the drivers i have talked to.

I was a transport driver for pepsi in roanoke va and it was one of the best and easiest driving jobs i've ever had. I last worked for them in 2003 before I moved to richmond, the pay was .42 per mile then and i was consistently averaging over $200 a day depending on what runs i had. Primarily you run from the bottling plant to the different warehouses delivering the product, 99% of what I hauled was drop and hook, sometimes i would run to a warehouse that was out of our normal service area and would have to live unload, but they usually had me unloaded in an hour or less. We primarily ran 3-4 trips a night, my farthest warehouse being maybe 120-130 miles away from the plant. It was a mon-fri work schedule and we had a morning shift and an evening shift, I would normally be out of hours by friday night and would only have to work about half a shift. Another great thing about Pepsi is that from day one you start off with benefits for you and your family, paid for by Pepsi, and 2 weeks vacation!!! what most of the other people are referring to about delivering pre-sold product is considered route driver. This was with Pepsi Bottling Group which is primarily east coast i think, but im sure the other divisions are similar with the vacation, benefits, and pay. Pepsico is another large division that i've heard good things about also.
