Anybody know anything about Stidham Trucking, out of Yreka, CA?? Good, bad, ugly, opinions, anything. I know back in the day they used to be a pretty decent outfit, but that was years ago when I first started, and didn't have enough experience to get on there. In the mean time life took a few different twists, and turns, I took different roads, ya know how it goes. Anyway I was just thinkin about them, so I did a search got nothing, so I thought I'd ask. Thanks for anything you can contribute!!

All I know about them is they are a smaller outfit, been around since mid 60's. Not sure if the same owners and their yard is pretty muddy.

Ok what I do know is they are flatbedders, lumber, and glass or used to be. Used to be mostly west coast, now or awhile back they had a 48 state division. Used to be EXCELLENT equipment, two tone brown and beige. Yes a pretty small outfit, 160 trucks, 180 trailers. I see some curtain vans in the pics. Whatever else you can get from their website. I just know they used to be a great outfit, and wonderin if anybody out there knew anything about them that's not just the standard website bs. One those companies the dad started and was well thought of, now the siblings have taken over. Just wondering if they are still as well thought of as they used to be. I see on the website the are running some Freightshakers now, used to be totally Petes. Not really that big of deal there I guess. Anyway, just wondering, you know the word from the road. Although I think the folks that hang out on this site is mostly more from the east. I was thinkin since they went 48 states somebody might know something.

Not generally considered a top tier co. Our mechanic used to work for them, he hates them & says they rip off their lease ops badly.

Try Combined Transport, Central Oregon Truck, Thomas & Sons or System Transport for better west coast flatbed/curtain van work.

I leased to Stidham many years ago (79 to 80)..They were one of the first to sell you a truck then steal your money with tricky bookeeping. Doesn't sound like anythings changed over the years..BEWARE !!

The only thing I heard before is that it is very similar to working for Prime. High lease payments and they get in your pockets for everything. You drive a beautiful truck and you stay on the I-5 corridor unless they have changed things. They have trailers for hauling glass and in my opinion glass is a PITA! It breaks and there are claims(you probably pay), its dangerous in my opinon, long waits at times at glass factories, tarping it, assembling the glass racks and disassembling them(heard theres like 80 bolts sometimes). If you like a challenge this may be it, but I would do something easier and more lucrative. I was born in California. What part of the state are you living in?

I'm in Eugene, OR. Right on I-5... Looking for something that will get me through the house more often....Don't care to drive in Cali...But I'll take what ever I can get....:biggrin_25525:

There driver seem reasonably continent. It is a lease purchase, I believe it includes the trailer as well. Call them they will send you out a copy of the lease. I personally did not care for it, but they will send it that puts them a couple of steps ahead of PRIME. One of the things no one considers yes these payments are usually high because you have on money into it up front. The down payment has to be made somewhere.
