The insurance is called US NOW and its a supplemental insurance plan. It helps some with prescriptions and hospital stays and has some kind of tele doc system where you just call a doctor I chose not to get this plan sounded crazy to me. The miles are there for the drivers Ozark likes. When I run a full week I have been getting 2400 miles plus for the most part. When the Hurricane's hit the gulf coast this summer I fell short since a lot of our freight is in Louisanna and mississippi. We also run a lot of fed ex to houston. I have had some trouble getting home on a certain day but they have managed to sometimes I have to extend my log book to do so but they have gotten me home. The .34 is based on experience and wether your OTR or Regional. I have seen regional drivers out of memphis in PA and NJ so I really dont think staying in region is a guarentee I think its more based on you will get home every week for 34 hr reset. In my opion it's been great working for Ozark and I am happy. I got thru the house last week twice plus got the weekend off. It all depends on what your looking for and also how you want to run on wether or not you will enjoy Ozark. We have good accts in NC mostly the western part of the state and charolette. Hope this helps you out. I have nothing to gain or lose since we are not allowed to recruit on this site so what I type is just from my five months that I have been here.

Hi, I would just like to know if Ozark takes students and are the miles good, where do they mostly run to, and can you take the truck home. Be safe
-
What are the runs like mileage wise, short runs, long runs. Do they run you all over or do they seem to run you in a specific area?? I have been looking at them and wondering what kind of running they do.

I'm thinking of going back on the road. I am thinking about Ozark. I'm curious if their running lanes come through the Fort Wayne area much. The recruiter told me he'd like me to get my Haz-Mat endorsement, but I saw their ad and it said no hazmat required...Hmmm...
I see a lot of negative points here and some good ones too. Do they ever get out to the west coast? I have a daughter that lives in Portland and it would be cool to truck through there from time to time. -
Ozark a decent company ?? Sounds funny they are no better or worse than any other company running now days.
There thing now days is because of the types of drivers they have been hairing lately ( low grade drivers ) and in no small part of planners they have been going through alot of accidents causing the company to make changes. None of which are bad and harmful to drivers. But to be honest alot of other companys do the same thing. Afew bad drivers screw up and every driver in the company pays for it. -
Do u know if they hire recent grads. Thanks and be safe.

hey mafialife and Army91W while i was with Ozark I Knew A Lot Of Drivers Who Lived In TN and you are right i never heard them complain about ozark about the way they were treated but out of the post i read on here so far the only good reports i read or the ones that live in tennesee in my case i believe they wrongly terminated me i took out std,ltd insurense to cover me along with the medical, dental when i went back to them i went back as a rehire not a new hire so i didn,t have a probationary period

THREE YEARS driving forem....WASTED...over declining a 200 and 100mi run...pathetic.

Unfortunately, like manymany companies, newbies are given the long ones to test their virosity THEN reality sets in and your shaking your head...HUH?....Well the GOOD will very quickly outweigh the BAD...AT FIRST....THEN the HIGH SENORITY drivers will kick and scream to get the long ones(as if we dont have bills and kids ourselves),and then WHAMMY here the come the excuses from your Driver Manager and Dispatcher...ie....."Not in a customer base area...Economys slow...No loads at this time(Morons,I had at LEAST 19Drivers on my Cell and CONFIRMED their lies)...Wait till morning...(and their favorite)-->"We're working on it,hang tight, might have to wait till 1st shift comes in(CAUTION) Nighttime dispatch has NO gr8 power in dispatching HIGH mileage loads, because of the forementioned(high senority drivers threatning 2 quit if they dont get what they want. Theres sooo much more to say,but will stop at this.
