    yea its going to be hard to find a local company to hire you because they are usually small which means they can't afford high premiums so they have to hire people a little older with expreience it took me two years to get this local gig and luckly i knew the owner and some drivers .

    thats what i need, i need to meet some owners or drivers. but how do you guys get paid and does the company try to find back hauls, and how does the company charge for hauling that far?

    as far as the haul rates i have no idea we get paid a percentage of the load

    the guy askng about cdj,, i was going to go and work for them they have a real smart mouth young guy thats tls to you about the job . i wanted to know about the trucks what kinda of motors gears trans what kinda of fuel card what was the bring home pay and home time would i get ,his words to me was he didnt like the kinda of questions i was asking .then he told me he didnt think i was good enough to drive their pete"s ,and i used to run with their drivers alot ,they are not all they are made out to be, so dont let a shiney pete fool u into working there.... if u think i made this up call and ask for the driver rect, and ask him these same questions i just posted ,and see what he says to u,,

    there's always 2 sides to stories like that. BTW why did you ask all those questions about how the truck was geared etc?

    Sharpshooter ur right about the 2 sides theory, but how the truck is set up (gears, motor, trany) it can make for a long day if you run heavy all the time, and the truck is under motored or to high of a rearend. I pull a frameless dump, and we are 90 percent usually right at 80 thou, and the trucks we run fall on they're face on hills like Jelico, Black Mt, or Saluda just to name a few.

    I met who he was referring to. Honestly I don't see how he could have gotten a chance to ask a question. The guy talks alot! I didn't ask any questions and he told me everything Uturn asked. (except rear gear ratio)
