    BST, London Ohio

I'm looking for information about BST (Building Supply Transportation) Trucking operating out of London, Ohio. They run dry vans out of London and also flatbeds out of Wilmington, Ohio.

Does anyone have any info about them?

    Thanks!

I know that after the owner died the wife sold it rather than let the kids run it.

Thanks for the response. In light of recent events of how the kids are running businesses, I'm going to take that as a good sign.

Does anyone else have any info about BST? Rumors? Talk to their drivers? Any input at all?

    Thanks!

They run mostly newer Volvo trucks with automatic transmissions. Their biggest account is hauling for Volvo (explains the Volvo fleet). They have many other accounts in Ohio. They pull vans and flatbeds. They run local, regional, and long-haul. Very nice office/warehouse/maintenance facility-all blacktop lot. 53' air-ride trailers with logistics posts. I've never worked for them but have pulled many dry van loads for them locally and regionally. I would give them a call. I would consider them if i was looking for a company job.

Building Systems Transportation out of London, OH (van division) and Wilmington, OH (flatbed division). I drove on the flatbed side right out of school and can honestly say its a great company to work for. Your paid percentage and I would say is one of the few places you will and can make 40,000+ your first year with no experience. I ran hard in my first year and I pulled roughly 47,000. If you need some time off there is a good chance they will let you run local for a week or so. Winter time you may find yourself waiting to find a backhaul but that is part of flatbedding. There are 2 dedicated outbound accounts being Timbertech and North American Stainless Steel. I have listed how common each outbound load is:

Timbertech in Wilmington, OH- 80% of outbound loads / all pay minimum $300 one way

North American Stainless Steel in Ghent, KY- 15% of outbound loads / all pay minimum $260 one way

Red Built in Delaware, OH- 5% of outbound loads / all pay minimum of $250 one way

All of the loads listed above must be tarped except red built. Loads from timbertech go to the midwest or northeast. Loads out of N.A.S. go northeast 99.5% of the time. I have only had one Red built and it was a 2 stop to North Carolina and Florida. Overall get used to New Jersey. I typically see home once a week and get weekends off as do other drivers. They run all volvo's no condos (unless a trainer) all midroofs but in good shape and continue to buy 2014's.

    Pros-
    Equipment
    Pay
    Paper Log
    Hometime

    Con-
2 week hold on 1st pay
    A little unorganized
They will deduct paycheck for any damages that are driver fault

I do have some buddies on the dry van side and love it. I tend to make more running flatbed but it is more work. Overall one of BEST starter company I feel you can drive for in the area and make a living. Would also recommend to experienced drivers. The best thing I can say is 4 of us went to them from my truck driving school and every single one of us are still there.
