Dallas Uses Billboards to Target Saggy Pants

Dallas Uses Billboards to Target Saggy Pants
10/23/07

Quote:
Billboards make their debut in the Dallas area Tuesday urging Texans: "Don't Be Lame, Elevate Your Game."
Dallas City Hall kicks off its ad campaign in the anti-saggy pants battle to advise people to "Pull'em Up" with more than two dozen billboards.
Click here to watch the video report on myFOXdfw.com.
Some billboards, including "Represent Yourself Like You Present Yourself," and "That's Not Hip-Hop That's Flip Flop" will go up at busy intersections and highways.

Thumbs up

One of the local church deacons that was pushing this got a surprise last week. He walked up to a young man as he has done for some time now and said" hey man, pull your pants up right". The young punk pulled out a handgun and put it to his head and threatened to kill him. The police caught the little gang banger soon after. He had a lengthy criminal record. I'm sure the Dallas police will slap his hand and cut him loose as usual.

OMG! That's TERRIBLE!!

I really dislike the baggy, saggy pants. It looks stupid with one hand holding their pants up and the other hand holding a cell phone up to their ear.

That's my generation's thing, and I HATE IT.

Between that and the horrible rap music coming out of their Zipping Beemobiles, with the $300 Muffler that does the same thing that 30 minutes and a $12 (if even that much) Hacksaw can do.

Frankly, I like to dis-associate myself from the group.

I thought the cops liked that look for a number of reasons.
It saves them from profiling, they don't have to chase them too far & they can't get away with much with only one hand free.

The value added accessory is the long duck bill baseball cap pulled down low in front.

You can't see the pole you're about to run into.

On one of the news shows tonight they tried another approach. They are now telling the kids where the trend started. Supposedly men in prison who were willing to be "used" wore their pants low to show other convicts they were available for sex. Nice. Man the news just keeps getting lower and lower. I thought it was embarrassing the first time I was at my parents house watching TV and a Summer Eve commercial came on with my Mom in the room. Nobody said a word. Now it's just the norm. I'm am as far from a prud as you can be, but let's have a little decorum.
