| I understand that, but we're not talking about crossing the county line here. They should understand that problems will occur on a major entry way on a international border crossing. This sounds like a Candian problem to me, not a US border patrol problem. |

Using your previous arguement, why can't the US handle it. Sounds like an American problem. |

You apparently have never lived in Rural America. I live in a small town with volunteer ems and fire. The ambulance comes from a town 8 miles away. There are times that the 25 fire personnel are always in town. There are other times they are at work. Sometimes you have 20 people responding, others there may only be 4. It is the nature of volunteers. That is why we have mutual aid agreements to many of the surrounding departments. We even have agreements with a town that has 110,000 people in it. Some units from the surrounding small towns had to respond to an explosion at their power plant. |

| Yes, but what you just described is within our own borders and sovereignty. We shouldn't have to rely on any foreign aid for our own protection. I'm sure there were communities close by that would've assisted in the same matter that you just described that were within our own country.

When you are fighting a fire, as a volunteer fire fighter, the time for response is very important. A town that is 12 miles away can offer assistance much faster than one that may be in your country but 30 miles away. Manpower is very important in these situations. |

| Because we help out our neighbours when we can. About once every couple of years Toronto sends all their snow removal equipment to Buffalo when there has been so much snow there that peoples lives are in danger. |
