Family of gay teen slain in Calif. blames school

Family of gay teen slain in Calif. blames school
Quote:
VENTURA, Calif. - The family of a gay teenager who was fatally shot in class blames the school district for allowing their son to wear makeup and feminine clothing to school — factors the family claims led to the death.
The parents and brother of 15-year-old Larry King of Oxnard filed a personal injury claim against the Hueneme school district seeking unspecified damages for not enforcing the dress code.

Insanity. Suing the school district for allowing their child to dress like a freak. And if the school hadn't allowed it, they would have been suing for denying their child's freedom of expression. It is very sad that the child died, and no one should be killed for how they are dressed, but what about the parental responsibility here? THEY allowed their son to dress that way, they are the parents, not the school.

Again, another example of common sense that has gone completely out the window.

You know if the school refused to let him wear all that then the parents would be wanting money also....wouldn't matter sounds like they are out just for the money in my opinion.

They should be suing the sorry parents that raised the kid that shot the kid, or rather, prosecuting them, and that kid.

If you read some history on this kid, he had it rough from the get-go. He's actually, sad to say, better off now, probably. The signs were on the wall that there was trouble brewing.

In my day, bullies weren't tolerated in school (sure people would pick on one another, but not like nowadays) but now the whiny parents won't let anyone reprimand their little "babies" about a-hole behavior. There should be standards set.

This is the kind of stuff that gets kids all wound up, parents teach the children that being gay is so horribly wrong and then all of a sudden when your kid freaks and lashes out at some other kid because of all the crap you've put in their head, you wonder how it happened and it must be the gay kids' fault.

How would YOU feel if it was your kid that pulled the trigger on that poor boy? Where is the teaching about violence being wrong and it's not your place to do the work of God? There may have been a plan in place for that child, but who will ever know it now, because of that other idiot?

I hope they prosecute the snotbag who shot him as an adult.

No more 1 on 1 after school tussles. Now it's 10 on 1 beat downs and buying guns to kill someone because you don't like the look of his clothes.
