EBay to cut 10 percent of jobs

EBay to cut 10 percent of jobs
10/6/08
Quote:
NEW YORK (Reuters) - EBay Inc plans to cut its work force 10 percent and sees third-quarter revenue hitting the low end of its forecast, though profit will exceed expectations, the online auction Web site said on Monday.
EBay also said it would spend more than $1.3 billion to buy companies that bolster its online payments and classifieds businesses as it seeks to improve its performance in a weak U.S. economy.

I HATE eBay and even more now. Sure as HELL will never buy from eBay again. So, they let off 1,600 workers and THEN purchase Buy Bill Me Later? Bad, BAD move, eBay.

After getting jacked for $700 on a laptop I never got I no longer buy outside the US.
I took a couple yr hiatus from ebay after that experience.

I still buy occasionally from them, but its got to be a smoking deal and I research the seller a lot more. I don't hit the buy it now button nearly as quick as I did the day I got screwed.

I used to buy from ebay years ago, but it seems that the little guy sellers now take a back seat to larger retailers. As a result, the prices are higher and I can generally get a better and more secure deal elsewhere.

Ducks... I like using ebay express..... Thats pretty much like buying from any store front. No bidding required.
