Excavator 300 suspected illegal immigrants caught in SC raid

300 suspected illegal immigrants caught in SC raid
10/7/08
Quote:
GREENVILLE, S.C. - Federal agents swept through a chicken processing plant Tuesday, detaining more than 300 suspected illegal immigrants, sending panicked workers running and screaming through the hallways. Worried relatives collected outside, fearful their loved ones would be deported.
Police and agents during a shift change ordered all workers at the House of Raeford's Columbia Farms to show identification, according to officials and witnesses. The business had been under scrutiny for months and the raid comes on the heels of even larger roundups at plants across the country.

Why don’t we start putting the employers in jail. Supply an demand if there is no work ,they would not come. If illegal’s can find work they will keep coming, if government wanted to do something about it, they would start putting white collar employers in jail.

They can put the screws to the employers, but we'll probably never hear about it. The investigation will take forever, and the results of the investigation will get swept under the rug and relegated to page 12 in the newspapers. If the employers do get nailed, it will probably just be a slap on the wrist anyway.

Very true... They should be arrested as well... But sending back 300 to Mexico is a good thing as well..

Now the place will have to hire Americans to replace the illegals or go out of business..
