Man shoots 4 family members, then himself Quote: (CNN) -- A man shot his estranged wife to death, along with their son and grandson, before turning the gun on himself as police closed in, authorities in Livingston Parish, Louisiana, said Sunday. Dennis Carter Sr., 50, also shot and critically injured his pregnant daughter-in-law, the parish sheriff's office said in a statement. The shootings occurred Saturday night in the town of Holden, Louisiana. Authorities were dispatched to a report of shots fired at a home about 10:40 p.m. Upon arrival, they found three people dead and the fourth -- Amber Carter, 25 -- in critical condition, the statement said. We've become soft with a false sense of entitlement, and now that the chips are down, people have no clue how to cope. As I have said before, I am grateful that I did not grow up in the lap of luxury. I learned resourcefulness and was taught to distinguish wants from needs early in life. Being on the road for about 3 months now i have seen alot,somethings i wish i didnt see but i have seen ppl living in their cars,trucks,etc.Living under bridges,living in campers out in the woods and the list goes on,things are hard out their and ppl are giving up,or as the term goes-snapping.But that is no excuse to just go out there and start shooting ppl and family members,etc.

I read an article a few months ago that said men who do kill their families and then themselves see no other way out. Usually they lost a job or are about to lose their homes. They think that no one else can provde for their families so it's best just to end it for everyone.
