Barack Obama gave his second statement on the Fort Hood massacre, and

this one went better than his first. He cautioned Americans to let

law-enforcement agencies do their job in investigating the 13 murders

apparently committed by Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan and to avoid

“jumping to conclusions” based on incomplete data.

Good advice.

Maybe Barry should have heeded this advice when he leaped to the

conclusion that Cambridge police “acted stupidly” when they arrested Skip

Gates.

Oh wait, this guy is Muslim and that cop was white.

I'm sorry to hear that Nana, I am lucky and my friends stationed at Ft. Hood are all alright. This community has known alot of heart ache and suffering without being attacked at home. I could tell you some stories about Hood and Killeen from way back, we used to live close by.

You are absolutely right Mooney. There will be information coming out in the days ahead that will clarify why this horror took place. It will also clarify and support (at least for some) a few of the things some of us have been saying for some time.

And now I'm going to say something that some will find offensive:

I wish the shooter had been killed. I dread the trials and the drama ahead. I wish the shooter was stone cold killed because I know the liberals will forget they are American.....forget right vs wrong and they will rise to defend this animal simply because it's "politically correct".

I wish they'd blown him away.

****clarification: I am not speaking of "forum liberals" but of liberals in the judicial system****

Nana my family is from Belton originally, but we have lived all over Texas. Within my lifetime I have seen a sign in Killeen at the city limits that said " N Don't let the sun set on you". Used to be the Killeen PD would call 1 MP from Hood to deal with problems in certain parts of town.

Then there was a soldier who was caught in the act raping a farmers daughter, old boy castrated him and tied him to a fence post with barbed wire. Never made the news for some reason and the Army paid the farmer for their being in his land in maneuvers. There are a ton more from around there.

Not only do I NOT find this offensive, I fully agree with you. It sure would save a lot of time, trouble and money. OTOH, if perchance he turns out to be some sort of terrorist, maybe, just maybe, they can get some useful information out of him.

I have not read every post in this thread. My wife had CNN on for hours last night, listening to the speculation, exaggerations, opinions and total bull #### until I finally had to leave the room.

I'd just as soon wait until the facts shake out a little bit, before trying to find out what happened. The fact is, we probably will never know for sure about what happened, just what the media/government wants to allow us to know...
